Not Quite Dead: Open World Survival · public · first seen
Hey survivors!
Another update is coming to Not Quite Dead, with a new weapon loot system and two additional supported languages!
Finding the same weapon twice can now actually matter.
Standard firearms can now appear with different hidden quality variants, changing their Damage and, where applicable, Critical Chance.
For example, you may find two M4s:
M4 #1
Lower Damage
Lower Critical Chance
M4 #2
Higher Damage
Higher Critical Chance
Both are still simply called M4. There are no new rarity names or colors — you’ll need to check the weapon stats and decide which one is worth keeping.
Weapon qualities range from:
Very Low
Low
Normal
High
Very High
Average weapons are more common, while very strong or very weak rolls are rarer.
Weapon quality is preserved when upgrading.
If you find an especially good AK-47 or M4, you can upgrade that exact weapon from U0 all the way to U6, and it will keep its stat advantage throughout the upgrade path.
This makes finding a great weapon much more exciting because you can decide:
“This is the one I want to invest my Weapon Parts into.”
The new quality variants are being added directly to the normal weapon loot pools, including military/search containers.
Players will find the base weapon first and then upgrade it normally — upgraded U1–U6 weapons are not simply dropped as random loot.
Thai (ไทย) has now been added to Not Quite Dead!
The UI, menus, inventory, quests, factions, tutorials and other localized content have been updated to support Thai text properly.
A dedicated Thai-compatible font has also been integrated to correctly display vowels, tone marks and combined characters.
Arabic (العربية) has also been added!
Arabic required some additional UI work because it uses Right-to-Left (RTL) text.
Support now includes:
Proper connected Arabic characters
RTL interface support
Correct numbers and percentages
Mixed Arabic and English text
Weapon names such as M4 and AK-47
Keyboard keys inside Arabic instructions
Inventory, quests, factions, tooltips and tutorials
The 3D tutorial text system has also been upgraded so languages such as Arabic and Thai can display correctly in the world.
I’m continuing to improve localization so more players around the world can enjoy Not Quite Dead comfortably.
Thank you to everyone from Thailand, Arabic-speaking countries, and everywhere else who has been playing and supporting the game!
And as always, thank you for your feedback, bug reports, reviews and suggestions.
More improvements are coming. ❤️
See you on the island, survivors!
