Dice Gun Commando 1.0.2 is released!
This adds enhanced tutorialization to Combat Training (aka the tutorial), explaining the core mechanics quickly while keeping popovers to a minimum. Additionally, it adds more quality of life features (you can now hide tooltips!) and bug fixes (locked mobs no longer get pushed around!).
For the folks who played the beta versions of this build at 2D Con this weekend, thank you! Your feedback was immensely valuable in getting these changes working smoothly.
Combat Training now has explicit (but minimal) tutorialization, focused on explaining the core loop as quickly as possible.
Added tooltip actions for dice and mods.
Tooltips can now be hidden with a button press during Equip.
Dice tooltips now show the die’s mean (aka “average”).
“Add Choice” for gun level-up activators rephrased as “Choose X” (where X = number of choices you get after dice payment).
Aim Mode hint now always shows at the start of each run. For non-Combat Training runs, it fades after a couple seconds.
Validation error for Odds/Evens mod triggers reworked for clearer communication of face counts.
Threat Level selection buttons now hide if you can’t go higher or lower than the current selection.
Slightly increased delay time for first wave’s initial spawn.
Changed “Waves” to “Waves Completed” in Run Summary.
Filter Cycle icon is now clickable.
Slightly decreased boss damage and level scaling.
Slightly increased safety radius for spawns avoiding player position.
Various changes to improve overall performance.
Filter Cycle icon no longer shows if no filter buttons are visible.
Fixed some keyboard glyphs not using pixel art icons.
Bosses no longer stick like glue on the player.
Improved mob pushback calculation to be less wild.
Frozen and locked mobs no longer get pushed around.
Common Cold now uses the correct color for the Poison keyword.
Fixed z-index ordering issues on gun slot Unequip buttons.
Stats on Run Summary no longer scroll while offscreen.
Zero-dust text no longer shows during Combat Training’s Run Summary.
Aim Mode no longer toggles from button presses during Level Up and Equip.
