Prayer

A brand new skill joins the lineup. Bury the bones your enemies drop to train Prayer, anything from common bones up to dragon and abyssal bones, with the rarer drops worth far more experience. Unlock altars as you climb, a gold sink that multiplies the experience every bone gives you. There are three altars to work toward, each a steeper investment than the last.In combat your prayers draw from a points pool that drains as you fight and refills with every enemy you put down. Twenty-two prayers fill the book. Raise an overhead ward to block an incoming melee, ranged, or magic blow outright, or call on the offensive and defensive prayers to sharpen your accuracy, hit harder, and soak more damage, all the way up to a handful of elite prayers that roll several boosts into one. Select an enemy and the book tells you exactly which ward stops its attack style.

Thieving

The second new skill introduced with this update. Pick a mark, anything from wandering townsfolk and hooded zealots to market stalls, armoured guards, and a locked rogues' chest, and help yourself to whatever they are carrying. Stalls give up the goods they sell, logs and ores and fish and gems, while people carry coin, food you can eat mid-fight, and on the richest marks the occasional piece of rare gear. Every mark has its own pockets to pick, and stalls visibly empty out as you work them over.A botched steal freezes you on the spot for a beat. Your odds climb as your Thieving level outgrows a mark, which means the best play is always the richest target you can rob cleanly. Chain clean lifts together to run up a streak that pads your coin. Seventeen marks wait in all.And three new foods round it out: bread, cake, and a richer chocolate cake, lifted straight off a baker's counter with no cooking required.

A reanimated companion

Your character got a brand new idle animation, redrawn from scratch with more than twice the frames and a smoother, livelier resting pose. It is the thing you glance at most, so it earned the upgrade, and every piece of jewelry was repainted to match it frame for frame.

New boards, stats, and achievements

Prayer and Thieving each get their own global leaderboard, bringing the total to nineteen. Three new achievements arrive alongside the skills: First Rites for your first burial, Sticky Fingers for your first steal, and Master Thief for the truly committed lifter. The Completionist achievement moved up too, now that there are sixteen skills to max instead of fourteen.

Quality of life

  • Full in-game guide pages for both new skills, with every mark's drop table laid out collection-log style and the loot you have not found yet hidden behind "???".

  • Both new skills, and all of their menus, prayers, marks, foods, and guide pages, are translated into every supported language.

  • The rest of the guide caught up too: the Attack, Strength, Defence, and Hitpoints pages and every section header now translate properly.

  • The skills menu was reorganized into a cleaner two-column layout that opens upward.

  • The Prayers, Spellbook, and Passive combat selectors gained icons and now switch language live with the rest of the UI.

  • The prayer book carries per-prayer drain-cost hints, a one-click way to switch every prayer off, and a hover readout on the points bar.

  • The collection log now tracks the new Prayer and Thieving items.

  • The equipment panel sizing was fixed, no more overflow or dead empty space.

Balance and economy

  • The lumber, blacksmith, and fishing stalls carry the full tier ladder of their trade, every log, ore, bar, and fish, with the top tiers extremely rare.

  • Bulk buying in the shop was reworked: prices climb far more gently and level off, so stocking up by the tens of thousands is finally practical.

  • New bones, big bones and abyssal bones, join the Prayer supply, with drops adjusted on the enemies that carry them.

Under the hood

  • Your save upgrades cleanly on first launch; Prayer and Thieving register at level 1 with everything else left exactly as you left it.

  • Leaderboard validation was expanded to cover the two new skills, so your first uploads on the new boards land without a hitch.

  • Mod support grew: a new animation-override path lets a mod swap the character's animations, spell icons now honor art mods, and a Classic Idle mod is on the way for anyone who prefers the old resting pose.

Game update9 Sep 2026Update 2.7.1Fixes · On PCs with a single screen, or a laptop set to show on only one screen, the whole desktop could turn black the moment RuneClick opened, with only the character and menus showing, and stay that way until you alt-tabbed to another window. Both animate smoothly again. Same root cause as the melee armour fix in the last update. The jewellery art was drawn against the shorter idle sway, and against the longer one it kept landing on the wrong frame. Magic goes back to the shorter…
