💽 Patch Notes — v0.6.15

New

  • Battle reaction system — your party reacts to what happens around them: the warrior praises a big kill, the thief flinches and rattles, each with its own symbol popping over their head
  • The weaver and the chaos witch have their real dialogue written; the weaver now names the Road and Fate
  • Choosing a character happens on the board — swaps and chain/counter prompts highlight the pick with a caret and outline, fade out anyone ineligible, and darken the board behind your party
  • Turn-order portraits show each player's available abilities
  • New elite encounter: a slime flood — a full board of slimelings with one rock to stand on
  • The shop's Hearty Meal and the campsite rest now play out the heal instead of snapping the bars full
  • The trainer always deals at least one card you can afford
  • Crystal pillars cast a real glow on the board
  • Shadows weigh every lamp in the room, so a shadow standing in another light gets filled in by it

Changed

  • Chains only bar the player whose own kill opened the window — a partner's kill re-opens the chain to them
  • Kuzushi damage 10 -> 5; slimeling HP 12 -> 15; softer focus lines
  • The tarot fate recipes are gone for now

Fixed

  • A party wipe no longer crashes on the way out of battle
  • A dodged attack no longer plays the hit sound and blood spray under its own MISS
  • A zombie knocked down by a lethal blow now reports the damage it actually took, so on-hit effects, shoves, combo and chain windows all fire
  • A shove damages everything on the tile it crashes into, not just the blocking unit
  • Entities that spawn mid-battle wait for their art instead of flashing a placeholder
  • Cast shadows track sliding and knocked-back sprites
  • Tsuppari's preview no longer promises kills its flat combo rule can't deliver
  • The ability diamond stays hidden until a character pick lands
  • Battle toasts and rally lines show their text again instead of raw keys
