Playto Cloud in more regions

Until now, Playto Cloud did not work in regions our primary AI provider does not serve: the free trial could be activated, but translations failed with a region error.

  • Second provider route — when the primary provider declines a request because of your region, Playto Cloud now sends it to a second provider (Alibaba Cloud Model Studio, Singapore) automatically. Nothing to configure, and no app update is needed — this works with the version you already have.
  • If you saw "not available in your region" — just select Playto Cloud again in Settings. The earlier message came from the old single-provider setup.
  • Same privacy rules — only recognized text is sent, never screenshots or images, and neither provider is permitted to train on this content. The privacy policy on our site lists both providers.

What is Playto Cloud?

Playto Cloud translates on our servers instead of a local AI model — no model download, no VRAM used while your game runs. People use it in different ways: only for heavy games where a local model does not fit alongside, as their everyday engine on a modest PC, or just for dictionary lookups so definitions appear the moment a word is saved.

It is currently free to try with trial credit, and this is exactly the phase where feedback helps most — how it feels, where it fails, whether the translations hold up. We plan to offer paid credit later; there is no date to announce yet.

Making the trial credit last

Cloud credit is consumed per translated text, so the capture setup decides how fast it goes:

  • Prefer Fixed Region or Cursor Follow over Window mode — Window (Beta) reads the whole window on every change and consumes the most credit. A fixed dialogue box or the area under your cursor sends far less text.
  • Pause when you are not reading — use Pause (F3) or Stop. Note that hiding the overlay (F5) does not stop capture: translation keeps running in the background and keeps consuming credit.
  • Translate only on demand — turn off Auto Capture in Settings → Capture, then press Shutter (F4) whenever you want the current screen translated.

Tell us how it goes

Region availability is hard to verify from the outside, so reports from affected regions help a lot. If cloud translation still fails for you — or anything else feels off — tell us through Contact us in the app, Discord, or this Steam thread.
