Commanders,'m currently working on a feature: mod support for Space Opera.Right now, all the values for buildings, modules, and ships are hardcoded into the game — nobody but me can view or change them. I'm changing that from the ground up.What this means in practice:

🔧 Editable game data – Costs, stats, and properties of buildings, ship modules, and hulls will move into readable text files you can inspect and tweak right after installing the game.

🎨 Swappable graphics – Icons and sprites can be replaced without needing to recompile the game.🧩 Create your own content – You'll be able to define entirely new buildings, modules, or ship types by recombining existing mechanics (production, armor, engines, shields, etc.) — no programming knowledge required. This is a bigger overhaul under the hood that I'm working on right now. I'll keep you posted as soon as there are testable steps to share.Feedback and modding wishlist items are always welcome! 👇-Bradley

Then I came across Trello, and it turned out to be exactly what I'd been looking for: **a public board that shows the c…Community1 Oct 2026Roadmap🗺️ Roadmap – Space Opera Hello, everyone! Many of you have asked where this journey with Space Opera is actually headed. So today, I’d like to give you an overview of the features I’m working on and what’s already planned. A few words first: I’m developing the game on my own. That’s why I’m deliberately not giving any dates —the roadmap shows where I’m heading, not when something will be finis…In-game event30 Sep 2026Version: v0.20.14✨ New Features Colonize new planets using a Colony Module ship A ship equipped with a colony module (`rock_colony_modul`) now features a "Colonize" button in the ship control panel. Using this turns an unoccupied planet beneath the ship into your colony, consuming the ship in the process. The new colony starts with 5,000 units each of Metal, Organics, and Isotopes, plus an "Improvised Construct…
