Rent Due v0.2.3, Bug Fixes

A follow up patch built almost entirely from your reports since the last update. Thank you for the fast reporting, nearly every line below came from one of you.

BUG FIXES

  • Fixed the frozen employee card. Checking on a hired worker, at the office or out on the street, locked the mouse so you could not click out of it. The mouse behaves now.
  • Spotless inspections file properly. A home with nothing to document signs itself off a moment after the camera comes up, instead of leaving you stuck with no way to finish.
  • Getting trapped after an inspection is fully fixed. Wherever the report catches you, in the garage, on the porch, anywhere under a roof, the tenant walks you out and the door shuts behind you.
  • Eviction notices come off the door once a new tenant moves in, instead of staying pinned forever. They also swing with the door now instead of floating in the air when it opens.
  • Rooftop job labels no longer float in the middle of your screen when their house is hidden behind trees or darkness. The words wait until the diamond they belong to is visible.
  • Hiring at the office desk clearly tells you when a hire is refused and why, instead of hiding the reason behind the panel. No money was ever taken on a refused hire.
  • The staff page shows when your next payroll slot unlocks, so the rank limit is stated instead of discovered the hard way.
  • The Controls tab no longer squeezes its own title and buttons when the keybind list runs long.

DOORSTEP UPGRADES

  • Serving an eviction notice to a tenant standing at their door now hands them the paper. They take it, read it twice, and go inside. Notices only get pinned when nobody is home.
  • A doorstep where rent is ready AND an eviction is due offers both at once. E collects the rent, and the new Secondary Interact key, H by default and rebindable in Settings, hands over the notice. Collect first and the notice reverts to the door pin, so the order is a real choice.
  • The eviction letter you sign on the laptop got a full animation pass. The sheet drops onto the desk, the letter composes itself line by line, the stamp twists in with a flash and the whole page flinches, and the signed letter lifts away as your trip to serve it begins.

Keep the reports coming. Go collect.
