Just in time for the for Steam Autumn Sale 2026, we have an update for Squirmish: The Videogame of Brawling Beasties.
This update affects both the MAIN and DEMO versions of Squirmish.
It's that time of year again, and the Squirmish tradition of flavorful Halloween cards continues.
We've added two new cards to our free DLC: Halloweenies 6-Card Booster Pack. You heard that right. The free 6-Card DLC pack now contains 8 cards!
On the eve of a full moon, UNDERWEAR WOLF arrives ready to inflict damage on every attack roll. Double damage to cards that just knocked out one of his friends. UNDERWEAR WOLF wants you to know that he dons a fresh pair of undies every day, not just on the full moon.
Defying gravity, nosey OLD PICKLENOSE swoops in to sneak a peek at your opponent's hand. Was she besties with PRINCESS CHEESEDOODLE at uni? All we know is that they both have a knack for moving damage counters around.
These cards are automatically available if you've already downloaded the Halloweenies DLC. The Halloweenies DLC is free, so if you don't have it, just go grab it from the Steam store to get these new cards and as well as the original six.
With this update, we've made a couple of computer opponents a little more difficult to win against, sorry about that.
Most computer opponents now make much better choices when an ability grants them the opportunity to ask for a die re-roll.
Abilities that grant re-rolls includes the Cyclopsean Cychos Group ability, and Cheetahlee's Stinkin' Cheetah special ability.
The computer opponent most affected by this improvement is Manny Oldman, a Rogue's Gallery rogue who specifically plays a deck and strategy that centers on exploiting re-rolls from the Cyclopsean Cychos group ability.
As if his bad jokes and constant complaining wasn't a big enough challenge to get through, you'll now find him a bit harder to beat.
Rogue's Gallery rogue, Greyface, now plays an entirely new deck and employs a much more flavorful strategy, Funnier, harder to beat, and played with much more gusto and intent.
Even if you've totally beat Greyface and already unlocked him for use as your own avatar, face him again for some exciting and challenging new game play.
The plain static portrait image of the avatar, known as Human One or Orange Guy, on the game's home page has been replaced with the animated portrait corresponding with your current choice for player avatar.
This update also includes a number of internal changes. Notably, we've updated many of our major software dependencies to match latest versions, and fixed a few bugs we came across.
