Hello everyone!
Odin's Trial, the free OMEA demo, just got another update. Let’s dive in!
Long-Term Memory: A Major Upgrade
You've been telling us when the game forgot things it shouldn't have, and that feedback was crucial. This update ships a significant overhaul to how the game remembers your journey, courtesy of Michał, our backend lead and one of our two main devs, who dug through the code and tracked down a major bug that had been quietly causing memory to slip.
NEW: Collectible Cards
Every picture you discover on your journey is now a collectible card, and you build your collection in the story library. Cards come in four rarities: Common, Uncommon, Rare, and holographic Special, each in a hand-drawn Norse frame. You can inspect any card in full 3D, tilting and flipping it to see the gilded gloss catch the light. Each card also shows how many players have ever uncovered it.
Camera and scenes
The camera now behaves like a cinematographer: it holds its framing while a character speaks and cuts only when the scene truly changes. Characters shift naturally between poses, scenes breathe with subtle motion on every line, and after loading a save your scene returns exactly as you left it - companion included.
Narration
Narration flows tighter: text and voice arrive together, the input field appears the moment the last word lands, and skipping ahead no longer makes the story stutter while it catches up. An elegant loading shimmer replaces blank waits.
Steam Deck & Controller
Dozens of controller refinements - smoother menus, better on-screen keyboard behavior, touch-swipe in the library - plus a significant performance fix that noticeably reduces battery drain during long scenes.
Plus improved audio quality, faster load times, and a long list of stability fixes.
Play it. The game will remember (now :P).
