## [0.84.0] - 2026-09-13

### Added
- Added two bilingual Magic Point alternatives to each of the 25 cases that previously had no way to spend MP. These 1 MP and 2 MP choices channel the investigator's will to bypass a corresponding roll and take its authored success branch, while Blackwood Academy retains its existing hand-authored MP choices.

## [0.83.0] - 2026-09-13

### Added
- Added ten ambient horror effects: randomized insect shadow passes, peripheral eyes, a flowing blood-screen overlay, a cursor-following pupil, mixed left/right eye swarms, a single-eye false blink, breathing scenery, light failures, briefly reddened narrative text and impossible screen tilts. Their independent trigger chances rise with both turn count and lost SAN.
- Added a developer visual-effects test bench and automated coverage for effect rendering, cleanup and turn/SAN probability scaling.

### Changed
- Case sanity difficulty now scales authored SAN loss automatically without rewriting story files: Low remains unchanged, Medium doubles losses and High triples them. SAN recovery and HP/MP changes are unaffected.
- Periodic SAN drain now follows case sanity difficulty: every 10 turns on Low, every 8 turns on Medium and every 6 turns on High. Its existing escalation remains one additional SAN after every three triggers, capped at SAN -4 per trigger.
- Removed the Forgiveness/tolerance difficulty rating from location data, the Locations interface and the case-difficulty estimator; cases now show only Life threat and Sanity pressure.

Most add a costly no-roll alternative (an MP-spend or a genuine gamble that can still cost Sanity/HP on success); in **Mountains of Madness**, whose two-option nodes are deliberate ei…Game update15 Sep 2026[0.91.0] - 2026-09-15Changed Consequence-Driven Mechanics Overhaul: Reworked a massive lineup of classic cases (The Colour Out of Space, The Dunwich Horror, The Shadow Out of Time, The Case of Charles Dexter Ward, Dagon, The Nameless City, The Hound, The Rats in the Walls, Innsmouth, and Blackwood Academy) to use a new consequence-driven framework.
