Hey survivors. Turns out "weekly" didn't survive contact with development. Lesson noted. What did survive: a good stretch of progress. Here's what's new and exciting!
Yes, Afterlight is getting co-op and Internal playtesting has begun! The switch to multiplayer pretty much broke everything that was already working. It has been a massive undertaking getting things back to a playable state and back to where the game was as a single player game. The good news is that most of the major issues have been resolved now and we am moving forward with new features and content.
Up until this point, there wasn't a single cohesive design system in place. This made for a mishmash of ideas and UX between the main menu, in game HUD and inventory screens. We've invested some time into creating one consistent look across all UI elements in the game, and work has now begun on implementing them. Here is a sneak peak of the HUD (Work in progress):
and the skills screen:
Note: Icons are placeholders and will be replaced when it comes time for implementation.
In other exciting news, we've been freed up from other engagements and will be ramping up development starting now. This should mean more frequent updates and a more rapid development cycle.
Stay tuned!
