From the desk of BOB - Owner of 8bit Salvage and a hairless Chia pet.
So, I just heard that our shop will be part of Steam's Next Fest in 7 days. Randy told me that this is a "big deal", that I should ask everyone to "wishlist us", and to "quit putting everything in quotes". Oh...
We have a few improvements for the demo that I wanted to share. Yup! No note cards this time, at least none that I'm going to read. Sometimes you have to trust that just being yourself is enough. Well, that's half the battle and the other half I'm saving for when I really need it.
On to the changes! First, there were some green and red numbers on the summary board at the end of each shift. I thought we were just putting them up there to keep you on your toes, but Randy said they were just telling you if you did better or worse than the previous day. Well, we found out that red drops morale and decided to remove them. Now you can just pretend that you did worse.
OK.. I don't personally agree with the second change, but we didn't really have a choice. See, the inspector came by the other day and noticed a few things that could use improvements, and one thing that he almost shut us down for. I won't go into detail on that since I already released it into the wild...
Anyways! One of the small issues was that our mutation wave wasn't visible enough. He said it was a hazard and that anyone could walk right into it! I can tell you that I've had that wave roll over me dozens of times and nothing has happened... I really wanted to learn karate, but I woulda settled for being able to turn green when I get really mad. Well, Randy added some non-GMO coloring so the wave is more visible.
The last thing we had to fix was the sound of the electric jumps. The inspector said the sound was.. too big?.. and could damage your hearing. He said we should all be wearing something to protect our ears.
Randy liked that idea, but I argued with him about this one. What if I had something important to say? Well, I decided I'm the boss and I told Randy to change the sound instead. I don't think he was happy, but he did it! I knew I was the boss! Whatever Randy changed, it isn't so loud all the time now, and it sounds different.. more thundery?
Now one thing we did decide to change, without the pushy inspector, was the name of the pixel intake system upgrades. It's now called "Pickup". This is supposed to reduce confusion, but my mind went immediately to Chevrolet. Randy says that my mind is something special and.. worth studying? Something like that.
That does it for now and please wishlist us! Tell your friends and neighbors about our shop! Not Jim, though.
