Welcome to another of our Conductor's Logs, where Brains has a brilliant idea which helps make our hero's glider collect iso like never before!
Everyone headed to the storage car, storing all the loot we’d grabbed, while Brains babbled on about making something to break down some of the items we’d found, as they were sure they could be turned into something useful.
I should have known that meant none of us would be sleeping any time soon.
Brains emptied half the storage car onto the floor and began sorting everything into piles: damaged weapons, broken components, and pieces of robots I hadn’t realised they had collected.
Shooter picked up what looked like a broken robot and raised an eyebrow.
“It might be useful,” Brains said before he could ask.
“It tried to kill us.”
“So did most of this.”
After gathering the required materials from storage, we found an empty section of the train and placed it.
The machine hummed to life, and Brains immediately began feeding our damaged equipment into it. What had looked like worthless scrap was gradually broken down into materials we could actually use.
Once the last item had been processed, Brains gathered the refined materials and led us to the Glider Fabricator. Using what we had recovered from the station, they crafted a higher-tier Iso Collector.
Shooter asked why we couldn’t attach it alongside the old one.
Brains explained that only one collector could be active at a time. We could upgrade it, but stacking several beneath the glider would not turn it into a flying Iso vacuum.
Shooter still seemed to think it was worth trying.
Eyes climbed into the pilot’s seat and launched. The glider swept alongside us, its new collector drawing in Iso noticeably faster than before.
For once, something had worked exactly as intended.
Cause when did things ever truly go our way?
