Okay, so this week was even less eventful than the last one. I was on farming duty the whole time, and it's not like I can write about that, right?
So, since I can't think of anything better, I guess I'll write about home. But not just my own comfy home back in Town. I should write about the world.
Our planet. I wish I could have seen it before Reshaper ruined it. Well, that's not very fair. We ruined it. We built Reshaper, gave it free reign to mold the world as it saw fit. And we weren't thorough enough to make sure its plans didn't involve the destruction of organic life. It sounds silly when you put it like that, but hey, that was before my time. Maybe if Mulberry had been around then, we could've avoided the apocalypse?
Anyways, it got ruined. Even Town, the zone where I'm from, has got robots rampaging all over the place. At least it still has rain and suitable farmland... it's more than some of the others can boast.
Junkyard, the zone where we're in now, is full of scrap metal and other junk. Removing all of it is taking a lot of effort, as well as some specialised tools. As if that weren't enough, there's also more threatening robots here. I've been seeing these big "jellyfish" looking ones looming in the distance, but thankfully every time they got close to town an EMP blast was enough to steer them away.
I've heard of other, even more dangerous zones as well. We saw an expedition pass by a few weeks ago, who were coming back from the Forge zone. It sounded like hell. No rain, no water, and factories that are constantly spewing out fire and robots? No thank you. And then there's the Swamp zone, with poisonous goo and toxic gases? There's even rumours of a robot that acts like a plant, but I refuse to believe it. Plants are sacred, there's no way robots could replicate that.
And finally, the Core. They say it used to be large, sprawling sproutling cities. Nowadays it's just desolate, bleached landscape, with Reshaper's ominous tower sticking out from the middle. You wouldn't catch me venturing in there, I value my life too much to risk getting noticed and obliterated by its optical laser! The sproutlings on that expedition are truly the bravest of us all.
Once I'm done here in the Junkyard, I want to go back to Town. I'm sure there's still stuff that needs doing there, and I want to decorate my old house some more.
There, wishful thinking. Surely that's good enough to write in a diary, right? It'll do until next time.
