So... It's been a few days since the last entry, and things have been going surprisingly well. Dill said I should also write some things in here even when nothing's going wrong, just so I don't associate this diary with just disasters, so here goes.
I spent most of last week on tower maintenance, with Dandelion and Edamame. The power grid was stable (for once) so we were focusing on shoring up our defenses. Since we established our base next to a mountain to the North, we only needed to check up on the South, West and East flanks.
The East flank, past all the farms, was where we checked first. There's always bot attacks going on on that side, what with all the worm robots going for the food supply. Thankfully, the farms are well defended with a line of EMP towers, which are great for clearing swarms of small robots. All seemed good on that front, so we moved on.
I usually hated going to the South side, because that was where the flying drones were coming from. If you're not ready for them, they swoop in, and bam, you're back to a soul seed. Lucky for us, the light towers were fully operational, and even though we saw one make a beeline for Ed, it got shot down before doing any harm. Dandy pointed out that some of the towers were a bit worn around the base (probably the work of crawler mines), so we built an EMP tower to reinforce them and keep it at bay. That should sort it, fingers crossed.
The Western side was... concerning. The towers were holding strong, but we saw some steel tiles that I could've sworn weren't there before. If a bot managed to get in range and get them down, that would mean that the EMP towers weren't enough to stop it. We built some extra ones to be safe, but I'm not super confident. I hope we're able to upgrade them somehow.
