Greetings, Gravebound
It's been nearly two months since our last Vlog so we have a packed one with important and juicy info, so for more visuals and my delightful voice do check it out on Youtube Here otherwise We have the blog breakdown for you to peruse.
Noooooo
The demo has served us incredibly well, helping generate buzz and more importantly, giving us a huge amount of valuable feedback over the past four months. However, it’s now quite outdated. Since its release, we’ve been hard at work expanding the game with new dungeons, a complete revamp of the Taxman, and major changes to how gold is earned, along with plenty more additions and improvements currently in our internal test build.
So, why not just update the demo?
While we did act on early feedback, adding fixes and much-requested quality-of-life improvements, for this next stage we need more focused, dedicated testing before putting out another public-facing demo. Because of that, we feel the current demo no longer represents Begraved as it should.
We do plan to update the demo in the future if and when it makes sense. For now, though, our focus needs to be on finishing the full game.
Demo close date
Don’t panic! If you’re still keen for another run or two, the demo will remain available until 25th July, so there’s still plenty of time to curse Mr. Gibbs for handing you insane monsters for the tenth time in a row.
Playtesting?
So yup, we’re bringing closed testing back! keep your eyes peeled on 26th July, when the Playtest button will appear on the Begraved Steam store page.
If you’d like to get involved even sooner, you can join our Discord and request access there. We’ll assign a special Delvers role to those who sign up, giving you early updates and putting you first in line for upcoming playtest opportunities.
Our biggest dungeon so far, Weeping Woods brings a very different gameplay experience, with more open areas to explore. It’s been a challenge to get it just right, but thanks to the incredible work of our art team on placement with us, alongside the rest of the team developing new monsters and looting mechanics, it’s shaping up to be my personal favourite dungeon.

- Shauni, Witches Hut
- Bloom, Bonfire Crossroads
- Shauni, Hateful Heart
A very different experience once again from our other dungeons, the Tomb Tower is, of course, highly vertical, with a monolithic sense of size and scale to match.
It’s still very much in the prototyping stage at the moment, featuring cogs, clockwork elements, and a variety of floors. We still have a lot more to do on this dungeon, but be sure to look out for more sneak peeks, and see our grapple hook in action, in the vlog! - Grimmcore, Entrance concept

The Baltic Showcase on Steam is now live until June 21st, celebrating upcoming and recently released games from across the Baltic nations and Nordic region.
With three of our founders and our art team based in Sweden, we technically qualify… just ignore our British community manager. (Me)
Steam events like this are a great way to boost visibility for indie games, so it’s well worth checking out, not just to support us, but to discover loads of fantastic projects from the region, also a good chunk of games on sale to.
