Today’s spotlight is all about something very close to the heart of any online RPG: your character.
In Upgradia, your character is not just a stat sheet. They are your little adventurer in the world, the one you’ll take fishing, skilling, questing, battling, trading, collecting, upgrading, and slowly building into something completely your own.
Character creation gives you a wide range of ways to shape how you look, including skin tones, vitiligo, skin textures, shaded skin, head shapes, hairstyles, hair colors, eye colors, eye styles, brow styles, ears, head extras, face extras, blush, and outfit colors. Some of the character texture options also give a tiny little glimpse at ideas and content still to come. From the mysterious Patch People to the strange Tile People of Tilios, these styles are more than just cosmetic choices; they are little hints at the wider world, its future stories, and the unusual characters, places, and possibilities we want to explore as Upgradia continues to grow. Early Access is only the beginning, and we’re excited to keep expanding the world with more personality, more surprises, and more reasons to wonder what comes next.
Whether you want to make something cute, strange, heroic, chaotic, angelic, stylish, silly, serious, or completely cursed in the best way possible, the goal is simple:
Be who you want to be.
And the best part is that customization is not locked forever.
You can return to your character customization at any time and keep adjusting your look as your adventure continues. Change your style, refresh your appearance, try something new, or fully reinvent your character whenever the mood hits.
Upgradia also lets you separate your power from your appearance. Equipment matters for progression, combat, stats, and builds, but your look does not have to be trapped by whatever item gives the best numbers.
You can display equipment as a costume, letting you keep the appearance you love while still wearing the gear that helps your character grow. Want to look like a rogue while using stronger gear? Want to keep a favorite outfit even after finding better equipment? Want your character to have a signature look? That’s what the costume system is for.
Weapons, armor pieces, accessories, and style choices all come together to help your character feel more personal. Earrings and necklaces can also appear on your character, giving those smaller details a chance to shine too.
As Upgradia grows, character expression is something we want to keep expanding. More cosmetics, more equipment looks, more customization options, and more ways to make your character feel like yours are all part of the long-term journey.
