Hello, survivors!
We’ve always said that we love hearing your feedback and make improvements based on it. We are building Nested Lands not to just realise our vision for the game, but also to make it more enjoyable for our players. Let’s have a look at how Nested Lands changed and evolved during Early Access. Nothing of this would have been possible without your sup[port and feedback — huge thanks for helping us make the game more enjoyable for everyone!
- Sleep improvements and sleep timers: we’ve changed how much energy you get when you sleep and added the possibility to pick sleep timers;
- Did a huge balancing pass on the survival needs and added the ability to customise difficulty for the new players. Now you can adjust pretty much every aspect of your new save game: from how long it will take you to get hungry to how harsh the survival would be. Perfect for everyone, as you can tune the difficulty both up and down;
Lots of multiplayer improvements, including better stability, connectivity, PvP toggle if you want to have some fun with your friends, and more;
- Buildings can be moved after you built them;
- Saving System - we’ve added a way to save your game outside of your village and implemented an auto-save feature;
- Controller improvements - we’ve done many improvements to the controller control scheme and support;
- Improvements to the starting area - many people felt that starting area wasn’t worth exploring, so we’ve improved loot distribution across the starting island;
- When your character dies, all your precious loot is now put in a neat backpack, waiting for you to come back and grab it;
- We’ve improved the UI, added new quickslot keys and radial menu for the keyboard players;
- We’ve added new map markers for Pyres (which provide protection from Plague Winds) and added new POIs;
- Combat system was re-done and improved, with new animations, moves and combat patterns;
- Villagers have a proper daily routine and engage in activities other than working and sleeping;
- Quest board became way more noticeable and readable;
- All of the villagers can gather resources and help others do their thing when they have a free moment;
- Unstuck button - it was needed and here it is;
- The trader got more stock for you to pick from. Just don’t ask where he got it…;
- Several resources, such as cotton and coal, were suffering from low availability. We’ve done a big balancing pass on the recipe costs and how resources are spread through the world;
- Day and night cycles did some shifts here and there and the average day time has become longer than before;
- We’ve added new graphics options that were highly requested by the community - field of view, fog options, motion blur and others;
- Many bugs were squashed and fixed.
There’s a lot more to come in the future as well! You can check our roadmap here and we are working on bringing the updated terrain graphics soon. We are always listening to all of your feedback and making sure to incorporate it in the game. Nested Lands will continue evolving before the 1.0 release and beyond that too. We can’t wait to show you what we are cooking for the story and third island.
Stay safe in the plaguelands, Survivors!
