Greetings, Survivors!
This big update introduces several highly requested features, including a functional minimap and temperature tracking, alongside essential performance optimizations and useful quality-of-life additions to your daily village management.
Navigating the world and monitoring your character's status is now much more intuitive.
Minimap System: Added a fully featured minimap to the HUD.
Displays icons for villagers, plague foci/nexus, quest areas, and the Village Center.
Includes extensive customization options: adjust opacity, toggle the border, change positioning, or disable it entirely.
Temperature Meter: Added a real-time temperature indicator to the UI, complete with a Celsius/Fahrenheit toggle in the options.
Ultrawide Support: Fixed camera FOV compression and pulled the camera back appropriately for ultrawide monitors. Menu backgrounds will no longer stretch incorrectly.
We have implemented significant improvements to how resources and priorities are handled within your settlement.
Production Storage Fallback: Crafting stations will now intelligently fall back to pulling resources from your Warehouse and Village Center chests.
Task Priorities: Introduced a 3-tier priority system for village production, allowing you to fine-tune what your workers focus on first. Added clear explanatory icons for each level.
Crematory Recovery: Cremators will now retrieve items from bodies and securely store them in a brand-new Crematory Chest, preventing lost loot.
Quick Equip: You can now equip items picked up from the ground directly into empty slots. Additionally, pressing a quickslot key will no longer accidentally unequip your active item.
Loot Highlighting: Added a configurable pickup radius and a longer-range pickup dot to help you spot dropped loot more easily.
Quests: Added a new "Grab Quest From Board" task type. Improved the task numbering and text tracking for the "Follow Balder" quest.
Controls: The auto-walk feature will now cancel on its own the moment you interact with an object.
We have dedicated a large part of this update to essential engine optimizations, resulting in a notably smoother framerate and improved memory usage.
CPU & Memory: Reduced the physics and navmesh calculation load per frame. Fixed memory allocations for object pooling and visual effects (such as blood on skin).
Background Logic: Fixed broken coroutine lifetimes, removed heavy background search loops, and capped village log entries to prevent memory buildup over long sessions.
UI Efficiency: Optimized how the stamina UI updates on your screen and fixed unsubscribed event handlers across multiple UI managers.
Stats during Dialogues: Players no longer take environmental damage from being cold while in an active dialogue, allowing players to read at their own pace.
Critical Fixes:
Fixed a soft-lock issue where a player could die during dialogue with Balder and become stuck.
Fixed a multiplayer bug where client players could get permanently stuck in a building animation.
Fixed an issue where items could go missing or salvage incorrectly if multiple stations were open simultaneously.
UI Overlaps: Item notifications, tooltips, and villager info panels will no longer hide behind the new minimap.
World Fixes:
Fixed rock/prop respawn colliders and resolved logic issues with the "Hunt rabbit" quest.
Repaired navmeshes (including increased navmesh size for wood fences to prevent stuck NPCs), adjusted tent and roof colliders, and fixed unlootable or floating storage props across various POIs.
Balance: Adjusted enemy repositioning across several areas, added/removed specific enemies for better encounter flow, and lowered the overall drop rates at Plague Sites.
