Hi, survivors!
Welcome to version 0.8.0.0! This major update introduces the long awaited Skill System, touching nearly every aspect of gameplay, alongside the brand new Pillory and prisoner management system. Without further ado, let's dig into it!
You will now earn XP and level up naturally by performing actions in the world, unlocking specific passive effects and bonuses;
The system has different points, with effects currently integrated into the following disciplines:
Combat & Ranged Combat
Crafting & Cooking
Farming & Forest Mastery
Medicine, Leadership, and Survival
Added dedicated UI views to easily track your skill levels, current XP progression, and the bonuses you have unlocked.
You can now capture defeated enemies and put them on display in your village to boost morale! Here is a guide on how to use the new system:
How to Capture Prisoners:
First, construct a Pillory within your village boundaries (the blueprint recipe is available in-game);
Go to any Point of Interest and engage a group of enemies. When most of the group is defeated, the last surviving enemy has a chance to drop their weapons and beg for mercy, after they drop to low health (they will kneel down);
Approach the kneeling enemy. A new interaction prompt will appear allowing you to arrest them and send them directly to your village's Pillory;
The prisoner will appear locked in the Pillory.
Pillory Effects & Management:
Each Pillory holding an active prisoner grants a continuous happiness bonus to your villagers;
Prisoners will succumb and perish after approximately 50 in-game hours (~2 in-game days). You will need to periodically capture new prisoners to maintain your village's happiness bonus;
Known issue: Currently, deleting or moving a Pillory that contains a prisoner will leave the prisoner's model stuck at the original location. We are working on a fix for this in an upcoming hotfix.
Implemented several fixes to improve NPC and player synchronization across the network, particularly focusing on keeping combat and movement animations aligned.
Fixed critical bugs related to the player respawn sequence.
Fixed a bug that occasionally caused players or their equipment to appear invisible to other clients.
Performed a wide-ranging balance pass adjusting various construction costs, crafting recipes, and underlying item data to ensure a smoother progression curve.
We hope you enjoy building up your character! Please leave your feedback and reviews - we make sure to read everything. It really helps us Nested Lands and make it a better game for everyone. Stay safe!
