Farm Factory Simulator · published · build 25382921
Hi farmers, 😄
Thank you for continuing to play Farm Factory Simulator during Early Access, and for sharing your feedback, suggestions, and bug reports through the Steam Discussions and the in-game Bug Report / Feedback feature.
This update focuses on better Storage management, Machine speed control, expanded hand slots, improved HUD visibility, and several factory management quality-of-life improvements.
Here is what is included in this update.
Items can now be moved automatically from one Storage to another using a Supply Crane.
This is a physical transfer performed by the Supply Crane, rather than an instant transfer between Storage Machines.
Before starting a transfer, the following requirements need to be met:
The source Storage slot must contain items that can be moved.
A Supply Crane must be able to reach the source Storage through its rail range.
The selected Supply Crane must be turned on and available, rather than already occupied by another transfer job.
The destination Storage must be within the selected Supply Crane's rail range.
The destination Storage must be able to accept the commodity being transferred.
The source Storage itself cannot be selected as the destination.
If a Supply Crane or Storage does not meet these requirements, it can still appear in the selection list, but it cannot be selected and the reason will be shown.
The Disable Taking by Supply Cranes Storage setting does not prevent Storage-to-Storage transfers. That setting only applies to normal Supply Crane behavior when taking items from Storage to supply Store Racks. Move Items transfer jobs are handled separately, so a Supply Crane can still move items from that Storage when performing a Storage transfer.
The transfer follows this order:
Choose the source Storage slot
Hold the interaction button on the Storage slot containing the items you want to move to open the Move Items popup.
Choose a Supply Crane
Select the crane that will physically carry the items.
Unavailable cranes remain visible with a reason, such as:
Outside the rail range
Busy
Turned off
Set the Transfer Amount
Choose how many items should be moved from the selected source slot. The amount is selected before choosing the destination Storage.
Choose the destination Storage
Select a Storage that is within the selected crane's rail range and can accept the selected commodity.
Incompatible Storage Machines will remain visible but cannot be selected.
Start the transfer
Confirm the setup and the selected Supply Crane will begin moving the items.
The popup will show the transfer progress, including how many items have already been moved.
During an active transfer:
The selected Supply Crane temporarily stops handling its normal Store Rack supply tasks.
Storage Machines involved in the transfer cannot be packed, moved, or sold.
The transfer can be canceled from the Move Items popup.
Items that have already reached the destination remain there if the transfer is canceled.
Transfer progress is saved and can continue after loading the save again.
This gives players a way to reorganize Storage contents through their existing Supply Crane network instead of manually carrying items between Storage Machines.
Machine Management now includes a bulk speed control.
A new All Speed button allows players to change the speed setting of all Machines currently shown in the Machine Management list.
This applies to the visible list only, so it follows the active category tab, search keyword, and level filter.
The button changes the free Machine speed setting:
Slow
Medium
Fast
Machines that do not use this speed setting will be skipped automatically.
If the visible Machines currently have mixed speed settings, the button will show Mixed. Pressing it will first align the visible Machines to Medium, then continue cycling them together afterward.
This gives players a faster way to adjust larger groups of Machines without changing them one by one.
Please note that this changes the Machine speed setting, not the paid Machine speed upgrade level. Paid speed upgrades are still handled through the existing upgrade systems.
The hand inventory can now expand from the 6 starting slots up to a maximum of 10 slots as the player levels up.
Slots 1–6 are available from the beginning. The additional slots unlock at:
Slot 7 — Player Level 8
Slot 8 — Player Level 14
Slot 9 — Player Level 20
Slot 10 — Player Level 26
All 10 slot positions can be shown in the hotbar, with locked slots displaying the Player Level required to unlock them.
Keyboard shortcuts are also available for direct slot selection:
Keys 1–9 select Slots 1–9
Key 0 selects Slot 10
Pressing the shortcut for a slot that is still locked will not select it.
Shortcut numbers are only shown on unlocked slots that currently contain an item. Empty slots and locked slots do not show shortcut numbers.
The shortcut numbers are also hidden while gamepad input is active.
This should make item handling more comfortable as the player's carrying capacity expands throughout progression.
Hide HUD has been improved for cleaner screenshots and a clearer view of the game world.
Hide HUD now hides more interface elements, including interaction prompts and the crosshair.
This means the screen can now be made cleaner when players want to take screenshots, record videos, or inspect the factory without UI elements covering the view.
Hide HUD only hides the interface. It does not disable gameplay interaction, so players can still interact with nearby Machines or objects while the HUD is hidden.
Storage Monitoring has been improved so dedicated Storage slots can remain visible even when their amount reaches 0.
This helps players understand that a Storage slot is still reserved for a specific commodity, even when that slot is currently empty.
Previously, an empty dedicated slot could be harder to recognize from the monitoring panel, making it less clear whether the Storage was still assigned to that commodity or not.
With this update, dedicated empty slots should be easier to track when reviewing Storage status.
Livestock harvest visuals have been updated for Sheep, Suffolk Sheep, and Angora Goat.
These animals can now show a clearer visual state when they are ready to be harvested, so they should no longer appear as if they are still sheared or bald when their product is ready.
This should make livestock status easier to read at a glance, especially for animals where visual appearance is important for understanding harvest readiness.
Several Machine Management UI details have been improved.
Machine speed buttons should now fit more reliably inside Machine cards, especially when other action buttons are hidden or unavailable.
Machine cards also update more reliably after speed upgrade changes, reducing cases where button states could appear outdated.
These improvements should make Machine Management easier to read and use when managing many Machines.
The hotbar layout has been improved to support the expanded hand slot system.
The layout should now behave more reliably when new hand slots unlock.
Shortcut legends and slot displays have also been adjusted so they remain cleaner when the hotbar expands.
