Version 0.5.8 is a massive update! I have completely redesigned the Pause and Camp menus for better navigation, fixed a critical save slot bug, and added quality-of-life features for battle movement and debugging.
Major UI Overhaul
Pause & Camp Menus
The entire pause system has been streamlined into 5 clear categories for faster access:
1. Camp: Manage your characters.
2. Inventory: Check and sort your items.
3. Formation: Adjust party positioning.
4. Quests: Track your current objectives.
5. System: Access technical settings.
New Camp Menu
Selecting Camp now lets you choose a specific character to open their Character Sheet, providing direct access to:
* Equip: Manage gear and stats instantly.
* Skills: View and manage abilities.
System Menu
Technical options are now consolidated in the System sub-menu:
* Save & Quit: Securely save progress and exit.
* Manual: Access the game manual (now via a QR code in the UI).
* Options: Adjust game settings.
Combat & Gameplay
Battle Movement Toggle:
You can now switch On or Off the character movement animation during attacks in the Options menu. Disable it for faster battles!
Battle Logs (Debug):
- Press `I` to toggle the Battle Logs Visible or Hidden.
- Use `Page Up` / `Page Down` to scroll through entries.
- Logs automatically clear upon death or when moving between the Village and the Tower.
*Note: These logs are for debugging and will be removed in a future update.*
Critical Bug Fixes
Save Slot Wipe:
Fixed a critical bug where switching save slots would accidentally wipe the previous save file. Your saves are now safe.
Mother Abomination Visuals:
Fixed an issue where the "birth fluid" effect for the Mother Abomination had an excessive vertical range. The effect now appears at the correct location.
Visual & Data Updates
Save File Metadata:
The name of your chosen main character is now displayed directly on the save file, making it easier to identify your progress.
QR Code:
The website button has been replaced by a QR code in the bottom left of the user interface for quick access to the creator's web page.
Henry’s Dialogue:
Updated and refined Henry’s dialogue lines for better flow and consistency.
