Less sleeping, more landlording

We heard you loud and clear. The game asked you to sleep way too much, and that made it feel like a nap simulator instead of a landlord sim. This update reworks the core loop so the world moves while you do.

The game loop

  • Days now pass in real time while you play. A full day takes about two minutes, so rent, tenant calls, and calendar events happen while you are out working your properties.
  • Rent comes in faster. Tenants now pay every 1 to 3 days depending on their credit, so there is always money on the way.
  • Sleeping is now optional. Use the bed to skip ahead up to 12 hours when you want to, and the wake up is much quicker than before.

Tenant voices

  • Tenants now open their phone calls with a proper voiced intro, with the same word highlight as Uncle Sam's calls.
  • More voice variety when tenants greet you at the door.

Bug fixes from your reports

  • Fixed missing collision in the released build. Some props and ground pieces had no physics for players even though they worked fine on our end. This was the cause of several walk through and fall through reports.
  • Fixed spawning in the air when arriving at a property. You now start with your feet on the ground like a professional.
  • Fixed the freezes and stutters when traveling between the bedroom, office, and properties.
  • Fixed the prepay rent deal. Accepting three payments upfront now actually covers the next three rent cycles instead of charging you twice.
  • Fixed the wall of victory music when finishing Uncle Sam's course. One fanfare is plenty.
  • Fixed the rent to collect notification sticking around after you already collected everything.
  • Fixed tenant portraits not matching the person who answers the door.
  • Music volume now defaults to 10 percent for new players.

Keep the reports coming. Press Esc in game and hit REPORT A BUG, or drop by the Discord. This patch exists because you told us what was broken, and the next one will too.
