Gameplay
Custom Hobo now supports the Steam Workshop! Have fun uploading your lovingly crafted levels from the Level Editor to the Custom Hobo Workshop, and enjoy downloading and playing levels that the devious minds of the Custom Hobo community have seen fit to unleash upon you.
Steam Rich Presence is now supported. Your friends can now speculate about what it means when Steam says that you're "Bartering for Body Parts".
Revamped the mission progression system. This one's for those completionists out there. Complete each mission super-fast and without dying to gain accolades and the respect of your peers.
Added the ability for most hobos to "wall jump" off of walls.
Added obvious visual prompts when picking up important items and when important events happen.
Refreshed Mission Objective look-and-feel to make progressing through a mission more obvious and emphatic.
Made enemy NPCs smarter about how/when/where they move, ideally reducing enemy NPC accidental suicide rates.
Improved camera movement logic. The camera should be substantially smoother and better focused on the things you, the player, care about.
You can now quit directly from the pause menu.
Content
New mission: "Grapple Train". Use your trusty grappling hook arm to navigate the treacherous and hostile terrain of the M.A.N. train engine.
A grotesque "Tendril" Hobo Hack variant has arrived. Don't let it stick to ya!
Terrifying new Biomaggot variants have appeared all over the city. Underestimate these "elite" spitters and hoppers at your peril.
Level Editor
Overhauled how editing text works in the Level Editor. The new text entry window supports keyboard shortcuts and works a LOT better for editing long dialogues. Go ahead and write the next great American novel in the UI, we dare you.
Added Triangular Platforms, which are exactly what they sound like.
Made Smooth Platforms somehow even smoother. The visuals are de-crispified for your enjoyment.
Bug Fixes
Squashed a whole mess of bugs, including but not limited to:
Fixed a bug in which decapitated heads kept talking after they were cut off.
Fixed a bug in which lighting wasn't working correctly on the Z axis, making scenes darker than they should have been.
Fixed a bug in which objects were flipping incorrectly
Fixed a number of bugs with physics tether objects, specifically related to their previews, the ability to size them, and how they connect to things.
Fixed a bug in which objects with children in the editor were misaligned by default
Fixed a bug in which hobos would try to "mantle" over nonexistent tripping hazards
