Hello Blacksmiths!

Today, we invite you to step into the first major location of Sword & Shield Simulator: the storied city of Danburg.

This is where Richard’s adventure truly begins, but before that, join Richard's Blacksmiths Society on Discord: https://discord.gg/ZWaKJdhVcj

A City Standing on the Edge

Danburg was once a proud medieval port city, known for free trade and exceptional steel craftsmanship.

But now, the winds of change sweep through its streets.

The Order of the Black Swords grows stronger with every passing day, threatening the lands surrounding the city and the people who have built their lives here for generations.

Locations You Will Visit

Lower Danburg The Harbor & Docks

Your first steps in the city begin here.

Once full of merchants and traveling ships, the harbor is now trapped under blockade. Suspicious guards patrol the docks while traders, thieves, and smugglers operate in the shadows.

Lower Danburg is dangerous, crowded, and unpredictable.

Richard’s Forge

Your new home and workplace.

This is where weapons and armor for the city defenders are forged. During wartime, steel becomes more valuable than gold itself.

The forge will play a major role in crafting, upgrading equipment, and progressing through the game.

Main Street & John Wheelock’s Store

The commercial heart of Danburg.

John’s supplies shrink with each day that passes, but his shop remains one of the few reliable places for craftsmen and travelers.

Here, even a casual word can spark trouble.

The Local Tavern

The last place where the city still feels alive.

Sailors, mercenaries, craftsmen, and desperate citizens gather here to drink away their fear and exchange rumors about the Black Swords.

Some come looking for work.

Others come looking for hope.

The Thieves Guild

There is also another side of Danburg hidden beneath the fear and chaos of war.

Deep within the city operates a secret Thieves Guild, a place filled with criminals, smugglers, and mercenaries

Not every problem in Danburg can be solved with steel forged at the anvil.
Sometimes information, stolen documents, or a quiet blade in the dark can be just as valuable. But we'll tell you all about that in future devlogs...

Danburg is more than simply a starting location.

This city is buckling under mounting pressure, and only you can decide what part Richard will play in its destiny.

If you want to visit Danburg and try your luck as a blacksmith who must help the city survive, join the beta test! How to participate:

  1. Head over to our Steam Store page.

  2. Scroll down to "Join the Sword & Shield Simulator Playtest."

  3. Click "Request Access."

See you in the next devlog.
