Hey Runners!
Hope you guys are doing well.
Today, we are super excited to pull back the curtain on our next major environment update: The Great Plains!
You know that every great tornado story starts in the heartland. Inspired by the flat, open landscapes of Oklahoma, Kansas, and the midwestern states famous for spawning nature's most destructive monsters, this new biome is designed to throw you right into the middle of iconic storm-chasing territory.
If you're a fan of classic tornado cinema, you might even spot a few familiar references scattered across the open fields!
Are you new around here? Don’t worry, quick recap: In Funnel Runners, you have ~20 minutes to loot the city, fix the van, and escape before the EF5 reaches you. You can do it solo, but it’s made for co-op chaos with friends.

With The Great Plains, we’re shifting away from suburban streets into wide-open rural terrain. But don't let the scenic farmland fool you fewer buildings mean far less shelter when the tornados come around tearing through the landscape!
Here is a sneak peek at what’s landing with this content drop:
New Tornado Variations: Get ready to face brand-new tornado types! Some of these iconic funnels might look eerily familiar...
3 New Map Layout Variations: Explore sprawling farmsteads, corn fields, and rural structures across three distinct procedural variations of the new biome.
New Environmental Hazards & Traps: Scavenging is getting trickier! Watch out for mud pools that slow your movement down, live electric fences, and classic stepping-on-a-rake traps that will hit you right in the face.
New Areas, Archives & Achievements: Discover fresh locations to loot, collect new APEX company lore and unlock brand-new achievements.
New APEX Company Uniforms (Skins): Express yourself and help your team in our own way with a brand-new set of official company suit cosmetics!
New Quests, Consumables & Gadgets: Expand your survival arsenal with new equipment engineered to help you gather data and survive extreme weather.
New Van Malfunctions: Expect fresh mechanical breakdowns that will test your squad's repair skills under extreme pressure!
Did Someone Say... Cows?
All of this brand-new content and more is coming your way THIS OCTOBER, keep your eyes open!
Before I go…
Now that The Great Plains, flying cows, and new APEX cosmetics are officially revealed, a quick question for you guys:
How do you think your squad will handle running across wide-open fields with almost zero cover when the sirens go off? Let us know in the comments below!
Grab your walkie-talkies, patch up the van, and watch out for that lightning. The storm is officially here. See you in the funnel! 🌪️
