Hello everyone, this is Guri, the Background Art Illustrator for the SONAK: Story Design Project. I work on the background art that helps you immerse yourself even deeper into the world of the Study. Starting this week, following Chelly, I'll be sharing the story of Ru — a girl who set sail in search of adventure across the wider world. 💪
Before we know it, the hot days of July are right around the corner. On days like these, don't you ever feel like escaping to the cool sea? 🌊 Here, we have a girl who longed for the world beyond the ocean and left her village behind. It seems she may have departed without telling the adults, as a missing person flyer was found posted right at the Study's door. Shall we take a look together?
Among all the characters in The Lost Study, Ru appears to be the tallest and most mature-looking character. — yet in her own village, she's actually the youngest and one of the shortest. Just how long do elves live, anyway? 🧐 As it happens, a book that can answer this very question — Introduction to Species Studies — is sitting on the bookshelf. Shall we read it together?
Elves live for at least a hundred years and dwell deep in the forests, far from humans. I remember pouring my heart into capturing the secretive and mystical scenery of their village. 🖌✨️
In two weeks, I'll be sharing the story of Ru as she runs into trouble during her adventures. Ru steps onto a beach from which no one can ever return... what could be happening in this strange place?
And another protagonist will be joining us — Penny, who freely sails across the seas. Two girls who both love the ocean… Somehow, I can already feel my heart racing with excitement. 💓
