Flames in Modern Europe · published · build 25885110

Every region in the game now has three main ethnic groups. They include stateless peoples, and they affect the loyalty and disobedience of the local population, which in turn affect the amount of mobilization resources, buildings, and the stability of regions. The growth or loss of these parameters is also affected by combat, the state's protection of the ethnic group, occupation, stability, and other factors. So, if you just want to "peacefully" annex your neighbor and not spend long years on assimilation – simply recognize their culture as the state culture in the country menu!
Quite a lot of interesting random events have been added to the game. Most of them have several options and story continuations. For example, a businessman may offer to sell you a factory, a thermal power plant may demand urgent repairs, a ship without a flag may dock in your country, or scientists may discover a valuable artifact! These events add a lot of life to the game, which it badly lacked. In the future, the number of these events will increase significantly, thanks in part to a huge expansion of the logic available in events! And in general, in everything that can be modded. So soon you may even see a Workshop on Steam…
Below you can see the list of changes… Although this time, to be honest, I didn't write everything down. Overall, the number of changes is not much smaller than in previous updates, but this list contains only the most important things and what I remembered at the time of writing the post:
Save file size reduced by about 50 times
Added the region loyalty and subjugation mechanic
Added ethnic group files
Added the ability to liberate states by ethnic group during a peace treaty (beta)
Added the ability to edit protected ethnic groups via the country menu
Reworked the region menu
Added a new random events system
Added a lot of modding functionality, including choosing a random region, some logic blocks, and more
Improved localization of numerous effects
For balance, reworked the amount of equipment required by brigades
Improved combat and brigade scripts
Brigades are no longer destroyed simply for lack of supply, but only when they have nowhere to retreat or when no men are left in the brigade
Reworked the AI combat logic again – it now reacts almost instantly to local changes at the front
Fixed localization of the infographics menu
Fixed a bug where, after returning to the main menu with tips enabled, it was impossible to start a new campaign
After a war ends, brigades no longer retreat to the nearest sea or lake, but look for a path to an accessible country
Fixed (hopefully) a bug where the game language was reset on every restart
Added new variables to the top bar
The top bar now also shows the total value
Fixed a bug where appointing an advisor or prime minister by ideology postponed the presidential elections by 5 years
Added tooltips with effects for event options
Improved effects in tooltips
Added cool visual cursor effects
A great many other forgotten fixes and improvements
