We hear you, and we don't disagree. Our current tutorial is lacking, to say the least, and improving the new-player experience is something we're actively prioritizing.
For that reason, our existing tutorial is receiving a complete overhaul and will be replaced with a new, easy-to-follow, killhouse-style tutorial designed to walk players through the game's mechanics, the cellphone, equipment, and systems in a much more comprehensive and approachable way. The new tutorial will also be multiplayer, so you and your friends can learn together!
In the interest of transparency, we had originally hoped to have this ready by the end of next week. However, with our Halloween Event just 11 days away, we're focusing on making sure everything is ready for the event before shifting our full attention back to the tutorial overhaul. We expect to have the new tutorial available within the next few weeks.
In the meantime, we've introduced TRAINER LOBBIES!
You can find these lobbies by selecting the "Training" filter in the session browser.
Our Trainers are trusted members of the community who have demonstrated exceptional game knowledge, patience, and a genuine passion for helping others learn.
Whether you're a brand-new player trying to get your bearings, a returning player looking for a refresher, or an experienced investigator hoping to sharpen your skills, these lobbies are an excellent resource.
We recognize that learning the game shouldn't require outside assistance, and our goal is to make sure the new tutorial reflects that. Until then, we encourage anyone looking for guidance to take advantage of the Trainer Program.
To find a Trainer Lobby:
Head over to your Laptop, and navigate to the MULTIPLAYER button, then click "FIND"
On the left side of your screen, you'll see "FILTERS: In Contract / Full / Trainer Only"
Check mark "Trainer Only" to see all available sessions.
If a trainer is online, their lobby will clearly say "TRAINER" in the session browser
Don't see a trainer online? Head over to our Discord, and @Trainer role. They're volunteers, and aren't always on the game - but someone is always in the Discord! We appreciate your patience, your feedback, and your continued support as we work to make The Other Side better.
