Hello to all our dear Adventurers!
First of all, we'd like to apologize for the lack of updates over the recent period. We've been quieter than usual because we've been taking the time to carefully evaluate the game's direction, review your feedback, and decide how to make the best possible version of Blightstone.
Since launching in Early Access, we've learned a great deal from the community. One thing has become especially clear: the roguelite combat and build experimentation are the parts of the game that resonate the most with players. With that in mind, we've decided to focus our remaining development on strengthening those core elements and delivering the best Version 1.0 experience we can.
This means we're preparing a major update for September (we don't have an exact date just yet, but it will definitely arrive within the month) that will set the foundation for Blightstone's full release. It will introduce new systems designed to make every run more varied and rewarding, including the new Relic System, along with other additions that improve progression, diversity, and replayability.
As part of this new direction, we've also had to make some difficult decisions. Some features and content that were originally planned for Early Access will no longer be part of the final game, while others have been significantly reworked. Rather than continuing to spread our efforts across every idea we initially envisioned, we're concentrating our resources on the areas that have proven to provide the best experience for players.
Our goal isn't simply to reduce the scope of Blightstone. It's to create a more focused, polished, and cohesive game that fully embraces its strongest ideas and delivers a satisfying experience from beginning to end.
We know some of these changes may be disappointing for players who were looking forward to specific planned features, and we truly appreciate your understanding. These decisions weren't made lightly, but we believe they're the best way to make Blightstone the strongest game it can be.
We'll have more to share soon, including a detailed breakdown of what's changing, what's new, etc...
To everyone who has played Blightstone, shared feedback, reported bugs, written reviews, joined our Discord, or simply supported the game throughout Early Access: thank you. Your feedback has played a huge role in shaping the direction of the game.
Thank you for being with us.
- The Blightstone Team
