The clouds now change slowly when rain comes, starting about 15 minutes before the rain drops, the lighting also gets dimmer, it is subtle, but it all works well in the end.
At first we wanted to make weather localized (based on biome) and change the skybox for something more cartoonish and stylized, but we are saving these alterations for later, after finishing the exploration update as these will take several weeks to implement.
The weather schedule is working, it is based on a seed so it cannot be rerandomized by savescumming, each day has 4 weather slots, and the weather may vary quite a lot in a single day, here the debug weather schedule for a year (it changes every playthrough, so it won't be exactly like this for you).
Week 1 to 4 = spring (rainy season)
Week 5 to 8 = summer (more extreme weather with both heavy rain and harsh sun days)
Week 9 to 12 = autumn (more stable weather, has less rain, but not too little)
Week 13 to 16 = winter (has snow)
We are also adding even more critters and fish that are affected by weather.
