Join our Lead Producer Sam Millen and Senior Game Designer Gareth Bourn for our Gamescom 2026 battle presentation, featuring 25 minutes of uncut gameplay. The video you're about to see is the presentation we showed behind closed doors at Gamescom 2026. Same content, same flow, a lot of extra context for our medieval battles. In this case - a mid-sized one featuring 500 v 500 units. Everything you see is work in progress and content is subject to change. We are still working on balancing the battles and finding a sweet spot between the overall length and difficulty level. Cavalry charges and melee combat are other areas we’re focusing on. We’re pushing them to have more impact and provide a more satisfying experience, with improvements across the board, including animations, AI behavior, immersive sound, camerawork and VFX. The UI was reduced for the recording for the sake of readability. Arrow trails were disabled. All of it is fully customisable via in-game settings. We're hard at work to make Chronicles: Medieval look and feel awesome for the launch in Early Access - coming early 2027 and we have plenty more we want to show you in the near future! Now it’s time to let Sam and Gareth take over, bring you behind the closed doors in Cologne, and show you what it all looks like on the battlefield. Enjoy!
