Dragonlance: Veil of the Last Sanctum · published

We’ve released another update focused on combat AI, skill usage, enemy interactions, defensive animations, and experience rewards.
Thank you to everyone who continues to report issues and provide feedback. These reports help us improve the overall combat experience and make battles more responsive and rewarding.
We’ve made significant improvements to the Artificial Intelligence of both allies and enemies, with a particular focus on how they use their skills during combat.
Improvements include:
Improved AI decision-making during combat.
Improved skill selection and usage.
Better evaluation of situations before using abilities.
Improved positioning when preparing to use skills.
Reduced situations where AI-controlled characters would incorrectly use or fail to use abilities.
Improved combat behavior for both allied and enemy.
These changes should make battles feel more dynamic, intelligent, and predictable.
We’ve corrected an issue involving large enemies and their Soul drops.
After defeating certain large enemies, their Soul can now properly appear at the location where they were defeated.
Players can:
Defeat the large enemy.
Approach the location where its Soul appears.
Interact with the Soul.
Collect the Soul and continue their journey.
This makes Soul collection more visually clear and gives players a more immersive interaction after defeating powerful creatures.
We’ve fixed an issue where allies and enemies could sometimes block attacks from behind without properly rotating toward the attacker.
Characters will now correctly rotate toward incoming attacks when defending.
This also includes improved visual and animation feedback, making it much clearer when a character is actively defending against an attack.
The goal is to make combat easier to read and provide better visual feedback for tactical decisions.
We’ve also corrected an issue where fighting enemies significantly below the recommended level could sometimes result in:
0 XP
No item rewards
This behavior has been changed.
Lower-level enemies will now provide reduced XP, rather than giving zero experience, while defeated enemies can still provide their normal item rewards.
This allows players to continue receiving some value from lower-level encounters while maintaining the progression balance between challenging and easier enemies.
We’ll continue monitoring combat behavior, AI performance, skill usage, and player feedback as development continues.
Our goal is to make every battle feel more responsive, readable, strategic, and rewarding.
