Getting closer to alpha early access

Cart Legends is starting to look much more like the game we have in mind. With 0.0.9, we've brought together a new fantasy workshop, a redesigned interface and a proper 3D main-menu scene — alongside a lot of work on what happens when you actually start building.

This is still the Playtest, not the start of Early Access. It's another step towards it, and a chance to put the latest changes in your hands.

A new home for your creations

The garage and menus have a much stronger fantasy identity now, with more depth, finer frames and clearer visual feedback. We've also made room for more parts in the builder, tightened up the layout and made it easier to tell when a cart is ready for a test drive.

Lighting, weather, sound and reflective surfaces have had attention too. The workshop should feel like a place you want to spend time in while an increasingly questionable invention takes shape in front of you.

More ways to build, fewer things getting in the way

If you're returning after 0.0.8, the expanded parts selection gives you more structural and mechanical options to experiment with, including shield generators. Some of these additions have already appeared in the recent preview builds; this update brings that work together with the new presentation and further fixes.

A big part of the work has been less visible: snapping from awkward camera angles, moving groups of parts, and improving how connected pieces, wheels, hinges and pistons behave. We've been building unusual carts, reproducing problems and expanding our tests around the cases that broke.

Build something strange. Tell us how it goes.

We're keeping this update focused on finishing and polishing what is here. Further additions will follow in smaller updates. Try the builder, take your creation for a drive, and send us the builds or situations that don't behave as you expect. That feedback helps us decide what needs attention next.
