Key Highlights TL;DR
Gear bound abilities - abilities are now a part of equipping gear, kill mobs for a chance to spawn something fun!
much faster load time and smoother tile chunks - we've made the experience alot smoother when loading and breaking dungeons
Status effects - set enemies on fire, or make them static to clean the room with lightning. We have alot of magic effects coming. Starting with fire and lightning
much more robust melee - we improved the melee collision detection alot, a complete overhaul of melee abilities is the focus of the next big update
lots more - enjoy the big update and please give us your feedback!
This update fundamentally reshapes how you fight, build, and progress. We have completely dismantled the old system where you bought individual abilities separately. Now, your power comes directly from your gear. Every weapon you discover drops ready to fight with its own preset active abilities, handling traits, and upgrade pathways. Instead of saving up to buy a single spell, finding a weapon gives you an immediate combat kit out of the box—letting you experiment with completely different playstyles on the fly. A Massive Shift in Arsenal & Itemization
Weapons Drop Combat-Ready: Swords, wands, bows, and crossbows now ship with distinct, baked-in active and charged abilities. Grab a hunting bow for quick, clean physical snipes, switch to an explosive crossbow for area control, or tap into lightning wands that spread arcing static shocks through swarms.
Forge & Upgrade Loop: Focus your resources into leveling your favorite armaments and armor rather than nickel-and-diming ability purchases.
Elemental Volatility: Weapons interact directly with the new systemic elemental framework. Fire catches on terrain and ignites wood, and status effects build up through armor-piercing stats.
Weapon Clashing & Projectile Physics: High-momentum weapons and spells now collide mid-flight, allowing heavy attacks to blow through incoming enemy fire.
What We Need From You: Pitch Your Craziest Gear Ideas Because weapons now define your entire ability suite, we want to know what feels incredible to wield—and what is missing.
Which current weapon variants feel the most satisfying to use from the moment you pick them up?
What wild abilities, charged attacks, or hybrid behaviors do you want to see tied to future gear?
Tell us your dream archetypes. If there is a bizarre dagger, a kinetic siege bow, or an unstable chaos focus you want added to the loot pool, pitch it to us in the Steam discussions, our tiktok or on Discord.
The Roadmap: Melee, Animations, and Narrative Right now, the game is a pure, mechanical combat playground. You won't find deep questlines, sprawling dialogue, or world lore here yet—we are deliberately dialing in kinetic feel and systemic combat before wrapping the story around it.
You may notice the underlying physics and early code for weapon weight, projectile blocking, and combos quietly taking shape under the hood. Consider this the foundation.
Our next major update is the Complete Melee & Animation Overhaul, featuring dedicated weapon swing anims, fluid weight curves, and polished impact reactions. Note: Due to massive architecture changes in equipment data and stats, all previous playtest saves have been wiped clean. What weapon type should we prioritize next?
