At the heart of Sigilfarer lies a unique dice-building system that blends the strategic depth of deck-building games like Slay the Spire with the thrill of unpredictability of dice-based games like Astrea: Six-Sided Oracle.
Every encounter begins with a roll, and from there, it's up to you to plan your strategy around both your own dice and those of your enemies. Each character in your party of up to four heroes has their own unique dice, tied to their equipped gear and abilities.
By definition, the items you purchase or gain belong to a specific character class. Fortunately, you may influence character synergy and manage your inventory, allowing selected goods to have additional statuses and skills that affect your companions.
No two expeditions are ever the same, and each map presents a unique landscape filled with shifting biomes, unexpected encounters, and untold dangers. You’ll navigate this ever-changing world by gathering resources, engaging with NPCs, uncovering hidden stories, and deciding whether to face your enemies head-on or find clever ways to avoid them.
Your movement isn’t unlimited—each step forward drains the energy of your magical sigil, the ancient artifact that shields your caravan from the chaotic forces of the world. Pushing too far without proper planning could leave you stranded in hostile territory, vulnerable to the dangers lurking beyond the light of your protection. Managing your resources wisely is just as crucial as surviving battles.
Is it conceivable that there is so much risk in one place? The realm fell to chaos and magic, permanently altering the continent. Magical sigils are ancient emblems of forgotten power. Unbridled power transformed a once-beautiful setting into a training field. Wild creatures have made their homes in the rubble and voids. Humans and their dominance are long gone.
