MOBA Manager 1.0 — Release Delayed

An update on the 1.0 release

This isn't the post we wanted to write three days before launch: MOBA Manager 1.0 will not release on October 15.

What happened

Every game goes through a review by Valve before it can release on Steam. During ours, Valve raised concerns about third-party intellectual property — names and references from the games and esports scenes that inspired MOBA Manager, in the game and on this store page.

They were unclear as to what they are specifically referring to, and communication with Valve usually takes ~5 business days. So I have to ask them what they want to see changed, then change it, then wait another 5 business days for approval. This means Valve is unlikely to approve our launch before October 15.

What this means for you

  • The release is delayed — we'll release the game once the review is resolved. We won't name a date until we're confident we can release by then.
  • 1.0 itself is ready and can be played as part of the playtest, which will remain up until release has been approved.
  • Some names may change depending on how the review goes, parts of the game and this store page may be renamed. The game you've been playing - the careers, drafts, leagues and tournaments - stays the same.

How you can help

If you haven't already, add MOBA Manager to your wishlist — Steam will email you the moment it launches. Follow the game to see the next announcement, including the official release post.

And to everyone who played, tested and reported bugs over the past few months: thank you. Your patience means a lot, and we'll make the wait worth it.

See you soon. 🏆
