A Story Told in Three Distinct Ways, a Realm of Colliding Worlds
In Order of the Sinking Star, narrative momentum is driven entirely by player discovery rather than interrupting your flow with passive cutscenes.
The story unfolds across three distinct layers:
- Character Tales - Separate at First, Interwoven Later: You start across four distinct realms, each with its own unique characters like a thief, a warrior, a wizard, and even a talking boat. At first, their journeys seem entirely isolated. But as you restore mechanics and open gateways between domains, these characters meet. Their personal stories cross over, revealing that no single hero holds the full truth -- only through their combined perspectives can the true history of the realm be pieced together.
- Audio Logs & Environmental Lore: Hidden audio logs reveal the origin of the Order of the Sinking Star, including how the Overworld came to be, and what led to this state of the world. Far from being a passive backstory, these logs hold crucial clues to solving the broader mystery of the realm. Additionally, every puzzle has their own story to tell -- including the environments within them. Piece by piece, your curiosity rewards you with answers
- The Backstory of the Queen: As you guide the Queen through each world, you'll uncover deeper details about her past, her true identity, and how she ended up trapped in such an enigmatic place to begin with.
