Hello, Tamers! Really juicy update today as we cover the two new color versions that will appear in Temtem Pioneers! Thanks to having reached our fifth Stretch Goal in the backing campaign, Auri and Iris Tems will appear in the Downbelow! Enjoy having 4 different color variations for your Tems, and never run out of stuff to tame!
Let’s talk a bit about Luma, Umbra, Auri and Iris, and maybe even show a teensy tiny spoiler of the latter!

For those who are new to the Temtem universe, Tems can spawn in their normal color scheme, or in one of the (now 4) color variations in Temtem: Pioneers. Each color variation has a distinct look: Lumas are Tems with different color schemes and sparkling effects and trail; Umbras are their gothic counterpart, with a dark purple and black color scheme, and dark, hazy effects and trail; Auri, like their name might have given away, will be golden Temtem, and last but not least, Iris Temtem will be a beautiful iridescent color. We’ll be able to tell you more about their visual effects once we’ve finalized them!

Can you spot all the variations?🔍
Color variations have different ways to appear before you. You can find Lumas in the Downbelow right from the start, but Umbra, Auri and Iris will each have different ways of unlocking, and conditions to be met before they can appear and be Tamed.
The Temtem’s stats will also be affected by their coloration! Just like in OG Temtem, Luma Temtem always have 2 out of the 5 SVs at maximum, with the rest of their SVs always being decent and upwards.
Umbra, Auri and Iris Temtem will always have all their SVs at the maximum possible, so they will naturally be perfect Temtem!
We know you’re all dying to know the rates for each color variation in Temtem: Pioneers, but those details aren’t yet final and it’d be unwise of us to share them. What we can tell you, however, is that color variations have friendly rates, and there’ll be ways to further improve them. You’ll get many chances to get the color variations you like.

You will also be able to breed for color variations, and like we’ve mentioned in the past, breeding is going to be much friendlier in Temtem: Pioneers. Luma parents increase the ratio for Luma offspring, Umbra parents increase the ratio for Umbra offspring, and so forth. Having two parents of the same color variation greatly increases the chance of an offspring of said color variation.
Parents from different color variations don’t improve the chance of a given color variation, i.e., in the case of Luma + Umbra parents, the Luma won’t affect Umbra rates, and the Umbra won’t affect Luma rates.
Oh, and don’t forget: your Mounts can also be Luma, Umbra, Auri and Iris if you choose to put a saddle on a Temtem that shows any of these color variations. Enjoy strutting around in your favorite refulgent Temtem!
We can’t wait to finalize details on the color variations so we can show you more of each of them and share more info. I’m so happy that we’ll all get to show our personality through our Tems! Which color variation are you most excited for, Tamers?
