Track Builder Update

Posted by: That One Guy Loki from That One Game Studio

Hey everyone,

I had originally planned for this update to come a little later, but I managed to wrap everything up sooner than expected.

I'm also trying something new by moving toward more frequent, smaller updates instead of waiting for one huge monthly drop. It means you'll get new features in your hands sooner, and I get feedback a whole lot faster.

This update is all about giving players more creative freedom, both on and off the track.

Build Beyond the Grid

The Track Builder has received one of its biggest upgrades yet.

New 45-degree track pieces let you break away from the traditional grid and create layouts with much smoother flowing corners and entirely new track shapes. As if that wasn't enough, you can now build vertically using new Ramp Up and Ramp Down transitions.

Tracks are no longer limited to a flat floor.

Create bridges.

Create overpasses.

Create elevation changes.

Or just build something completely ridiculous.

Add Some Color

Every track piece can now be individually colored, making it easier than ever to create your own unique raceways.

Whether you're building realistic circuits or colorful fantasy layouts, the Track Builder now gives you much more creative control over how your creations look.

Meet the ATM

The shop has a brand new furniture item.

The ATM gives newly spawned shoppers a much larger spending budget before they even begin shopping.

If they happen to run low on cash, they'll also make one withdrawal during their visit to continue spending.

Best of all...

Every withdrawal earns you a $5 transaction fee, providing a little source of passive income while helping customers keep shopping.

Smarter Shopper Interactions

Shoppers are becoming more proactive shoppers and they'll now:

  • Walk up to the register and ask for help finding products.

  • Offer to sell parts directly to you.

These little interactions help the shop feel much more alive and create more reasons to stay engaged throughout the day.

105 New Functional Car Parts

Customization also received a huge expansion.

I've added 105 brand new functional parts spread across all 8 part tiers.

That means:

  • More build variety

  • More tuning possibilities

  • More reasons to experiment

  • More interesting tradeoffs when chasing the perfect racer

No two builds need to feel exactly the same.

Looking Ahead

This update is another big step toward making the creative side of Pocket Racer Shop Sim just as rewarding as the racing itself.

Whether you're designing elaborate tracks, experimenting with new builds, or finding new ways to organize and grow your shop, there are more tools than ever to make the experience your own.

As always, thank you for all the incredible feedback during the playtest. It continues to shape every update I release.

Feel free to leave your thoughts in the discussion section, and if you haven't already, be sure to wishlist the game.

More updates soon.
