Patch v1.0.4 [beta] is now available on Steam via the beta branch! It can be accessed by selecting “beta” under the Game Versions and Betas menu for Clockwork Ambrosia.

This patch brings a handful of bugfixes and some pathing improvements to the game world, but the bigger feature is one that’s been requested of us a number of times now: native Steam Input support! This actually ended up requiring a bigger overhaul than we expected, so it took longer than we wanted. We like to crow about our engine being a double-edged sword, and this is one of those times we felt the stabby part more!Because it did result in such a big change to our controller code, we’re going to leave v1.0.4 on the beta branch longer than most patches, and we’d appreciate if anyone could take the time to try it out and let us know if they have any controller issues. (Or if previous issues are now resolved! Wouldn’t that be sweet?)

FEATURES

CONTROLS

  • Added native support for Steam Input

  • Added default configurations for Xbox, PS4, PS5, and Switch

  • Separated input polling into its own thread that runs at 240hz, which may help users who were experiencing “dropped inputs”

CAMPAIGN

  • Cobblepost Lodgings in Mt. Yore can now be unlocked from the outside if you have the key.

    • Prevents an obnoxious run-around if you don't unlock the door from the inside on initial visit.

  • The Mt. Yore -> Pebble Margins shortcut no longer requires Dive to return to Mt. Yore.

  • Added Checkpoint to Submerged Mineshaft area.

  • Drillbot Rudy now always drops a Rife Device.

  • A room with a warp crystal and a save point now properly show the combined marker icon rather than both full-size markers on top of each other

VISUALS

  • Fungal Grotto, Blighter Caverns, and Submerged Mineshaft have received some updated visuals and decor

  • Misc. effects and objects, such as the Energy pickups, have received visual updates

BUG FIXES

  • Fixed issue where Proto Owl and Balloon would not drop loot as intended.

  • Fixed issue where two stages in the Submerged Mineshaft area had misaligned geometry.

  • Fixed issue where player could become permanently stuck in terrain during a flooding sequence in Submerged Mineshaft.

  • Fixed issue where bad armor data could persist after loading the game. (Sometimes results in unsuccessful Mend actions.)

    • Does not not necessarily address/fix whatever caused the bad armor data in the first place, but the game will now correct for it when loading saves or changing equipment.

  • Fixed issue where player could be prevented from leaving crouch state when in front of interactable background objects (such as doors)

  • Fixed an issue where the player could get caught on terrain when transitioning to swimming.

  • The Pause Menu can no longer be brought up over dialogue.
