This update introduces one of the biggest quality-of-life improvements to MOBU so far: the new Synergy Highlighter system, making it much easier to understand how your build works and discover powerful upgrade combinations. Alongside it, this patch brings numerous bug fixes, gameplay improvements, balance adjustments, visual polish, and a brand new skin to unlock.
Note: Some of the changes below are related to unlockable content from the full version. Even so, they can already be previewed in the demo.
Synergy Highlighter
Added a new Synergy Highlighter system to both the Upgrade Shop and the Fractured Shrine.
Hovering an upgrade now highlights all related attributes that influence it.
Hovering an attribute now highlights every upgrade in your current build that benefits from that attribute.
This makes it much easier to understand build synergies, identify scaling upgrades, and experiment with new combinations.
New Boomerang Monk Skin
Added a brand new skin for the Boomerang Monk.
Added a new challenge required to unlock it.
Added anti one-shot protection on Difficulties 1–3. If you're at full health, any hit that would normally kill you now leaves you with 1 HP instead.
Updated projectile ricochet physics. Ricochets are now less predictable, helping shots spread more naturally across the arena while preventing situations where a projectile instantly hit the same enemy twice.
Reduced the final wave time limit by 25 seconds on Difficulties 1–3.
Reduced the final wave time limit by 25 seconds on Difficulties 4–5.
The Fractured Shrine now offers three different Special Actions instead of only two when your current Special Ability is already fully upgraded.
The Fractured Shrine no longer offers Dodge Chance blessings if you have Explosive Temper, since that upgrade permanently locks Dodge Chance at 0%.
Purchasing Explosive Temper now permanently displays Dodge Chance as 0% in red, making the locked attribute much clearer.
Increased the minimum height required before the second boss can begin attacking.
The second boss can no longer start its spiral attack before teleporting and continue the attack after teleporting.
Added shooting visual effects to the beloved allied monk summoned by Order's Help.
Increased the size and brightness of the projectiles fired by Arcane Stand.
Increased the opacity of the flames from Dash Lv2.
Improved several character descriptions with clearer wording and icons.
Improved numerous upgrade and attribute descriptions, especially in Russian and Simplified Chinese.
Reduced the duration of the total blackout effect caused by the enemy introduced in Difficulty 2.
Improved right analog stick scrolling when playing with a controller.
Fixed an issue that caused some texts to display unnecessary scrollbars, particularly in Russian and Spanish.
Fixed a bug where Gigantism collision particles would not display correctly.
Fixed a bug where Gigantism collisions would not properly push enemies away.
Fixed a bug where Blood Economy could still damage the player while Gigantism or Submerge were active, despite both granting temporary invulnerability.
Fixed a bug where the reroll reminder could play even when the player couldn't afford a reroll.
Fixed a bug that could prevent clicking the Continue button after quickly opening the Stats screen upon entering a shop.
Fixed a visual bug where the reroll button could appear disabled even when it was available.
Fixed a bug where upgrade descriptions wouldn't immediately refresh after increasing an attribute that affects their scaling.
Fixed a bug where the freeze animation could occasionally get stuck halfway through.
Fixed a bug where the tunnel vision effect could remain active on the Game Over screen after dying.
Thanks, as always, for playing MOBU and for all the bug reports and feedback you've been sending. Every report helps make the game better. I hope you enjoy the new Synergy Highlighter system.
I'll see you in the next update!
