Farm Factory Simulator · published · build 25983489
Hi farmers, 😄
Thank you for continuing to play Farm Factory Simulator during Early Access, and for sharing your feedback, suggestions, and bug reports through the Steam Discussions and the in-game Bug Report / Feedback feature.
This update introduces a new Bus Stop system that can bring additional customers to your Store, new upgrades for Cashiers and Bag Racks, more flexible Double Stack routing, and several improvements to Store and factory management.
Here is what is included in this update.
A damaged Bus Stop can now be repaired once Store Expansion B, the first Store Expansion, has been unlocked.
After being repaired, buses will begin arriving throughout the day, bringing additional customers to your Store and returning later to pick them up.
a. How the Bus Stop Works
Buses arrive on a schedule while the Store is operating.
When a bus arrives:
New passengers get off the bus.
They enter the Store and shop like regular customers.
After finishing their shopping, bus passengers return to the Bus Stop.
They wait for a later bus to take them home.
Passengers arriving by bus behave like regular customers, so existing Store systems such as Bag Rack upgrades and Marketing effects also apply to them.
The final bus of the day is used to collect remaining bus passengers rather than bringing another group of customers.
b. Bus Stop Upgrades
The Bus Stop can be upgraded to improve its service.
Higher Bus Stop levels can:
Increase the number of passengers arriving on each bus.
Reduce the time between bus arrivals.
Increase the daily operating cost.
The Bus Stop prompt displays its current service information and available upgrade.
This provides another way to increase Store traffic as your retail operation grows.
c. Daily Upkeep
The Bus Stop has a daily operating cost when Machine Operational Cost is enabled.
The cost is charged during End Day and appears in the Daily Report under Bus Stop expenses.
If the player's balance is already negative when the Store opens, buses will not operate for that day and no Bus Stop operating cost will be charged.
d. Store Capacity and Closing Behavior
Bus passengers also respect the Store's customer capacity.
If the Store is already full, newly arriving passengers will not begin shopping and will return with the bus instead.
If the Store is closed during the day, buses can still arrive to collect passengers who are waiting to go home, but they will not bring new customers into the Store.
e. More Customer Variety
Bus passengers now use their own set of Tourist customer models, helping distinguish them from customers who normally arrive on foot.
Additional regular customer models have also been added to provide more visual variety around the Store.
Cashiers and Bag Racks now have their own upgrade systems, giving players more ways to improve Store capacity and customer throughput.
a. Cashier Upgrades
Cashiers can now be upgraded to process customer transactions faster.
Each Cashier has its own upgrade level, so different checkout stations can be upgraded independently.
Cashier upgrades are available directly from the Cashier or through the Store section of Machine Management.
Higher levels reduce the time required to complete customer checkout.
The size of the Cashier queue itself is unchanged.
b. Bag Rack Upgrades
Bag Racks can now also be upgraded.
Customers who take a bag from an upgraded Bag Rack can purchase more items for each product they choose during their shopping trip.
The effect is based on the specific Bag Rack used by that customer. Upgrading another Bag Rack afterward will not change customers who have already taken their bags.
Bag Rack upgrades can be performed directly from the Bag Rack or through Machine Management.
c. Packing Cashiers and Bag Racks
Cashiers and Bag Racks can now be packed into boxes, making it easier to reorganize or sell Store equipment.
At least one Cashier and one Bag Rack must remain installed in the Store.
A Cashier cannot be packed while customers are currently lining up there, and a Bag Rack cannot be packed while customers are actively using it.
Packed Cashiers and Bag Racks can then be moved or sold like other boxed equipment.
More Double Stack Machines now allow their top deck to rotate independently from the lower deck.
This applies to:
Double Stack Junction
Double Stack Rotary
Double Stack Merge
Double Stack Filter A
Double Stack Filter B
Double Stack Filter C
a. Independent Top Deck Rotation
Aim at the upper deck and use the displayed interaction to rotate it in 90-degree steps.
Only the upper deck rotates, allowing the top and bottom conveyor routes to face different directions.
The selected rotation is saved and remains in place even after the Machine is moved.
This provides more flexibility when building multi-level conveyor layouts.
b. Clearer Direction Indicators
Directional information has also been improved for these Double Stack Machines.
Upper decks now have clearer:
Direction arrows
IN
OUT
FAILED labels
The upper speed meter also follows the deck rotation, helping make the current routing direction easier to understand.
c. Double Stack Filter Routing Improvements
Routing for Double Stack Filter B and C has also been improved.
Items entering from the rear side now move directly toward the center of the Filter instead of briefly passing through the FAILED or OUT side first.
This applies to both the upper and lower decks.
A new setting has been added to Supply Crane Settings:
Minimum Free Slots to Restock
This setting controls how many empty Store Rack slots are required before a Supply Crane considers that Rack ready to be restocked.
The value can be adjusted from 1 to 12.
A lower value allows Supply Cranes to refill Racks more frequently and makes it easier for a Crane carrying leftover items to continue supplying another suitable Rack.
A higher value makes the Crane wait until more space is available, resulting in fewer but larger restocking trips.
The default value remains 6, matching the previous Supply Crane behavior. Existing saves will also continue using 6 unless the setting is changed manually.
The selected value is also shown in the Supply Crane summary at the Control Station.
Several customer navigation issues around the Store have been improved.
Customers should now follow intended Store routes more reliably and will no longer attempt to shop from Store Racks that cannot actually be reached.
Customer movement has also been adjusted so they no longer use the warehouse or factory areas as shortcuts while navigating around the Store.
These changes also support the new Bus Stop system by helping passengers move between the Store and Bus Stop more consistently.
