Update 1.1.1 — A calmer start, three new bosses

The Ash Remembers · published 10 Sep 2026, 09:28 UTC

All newsPlayers around this dateRead on Steam

Nearly all of this update comes from your feedback of the past two days — Discord, the Steam forum and one detailed voice note from a player. Thank you.

A calmer start

  • A new hero starts with only Overview, Mining, Melee and Settings. Everything else (Bank, Market, Armoury, Blacksmith, Crates, Vault, Upgrades, Chronicles, Events, World Map …) appears step by step, each with a short explanation and a moment where the game shows it to you.
  • Existing saves keep everything they already had unlocked.
  • The Ashfall goal bar only shows up once it matters (total level 50).

Three Epoch Bosses — one per Ashfall

  • Morvhal, the Returned (awakens after Ashfall 1), Ithra, the Second Silence (after 2) and Kaer'Dun, the Third Fall (after 3). Each with their own art, stage, lore, weakness and resistance.
  • Each drops their relic guaranteed and, with luck, a mythic weapon stronger than anything before: Blade of Return, Bow of Silence, Staff of the Third Fall.
  • They are listed on the World Boss page from the start — locked, with a note on when they awaken. The Ashfall itself celebrates the new epoch.

The red thread

  • The Overview now tells you where you are (The First Hunting Grounds, The Mistmoor, The Lost Dominion, The Emberlands, The Edge of Night), gives one line of lore and names the next place with the combat levels still missing. Click to open the world map.
  • Entering a new region is celebrated once and written to the journal.

Activity bar

  • Gathering (green), Combat (red) and Workshop (blue) are colour-coded, every row has an × to stop it, and a line below says how many gathering slots are free ("Gathering 1 of 2 free · Combat running").

Fixed

  • Jewellery (rings, necklaces, amulets) appeared in both Blacksmith AND Crafting — now Crafting only. (Thanks for reporting!)
  • Crate window: long names wrap; gear glows at the edge in its rarity colour; the crate sound only plays when a crate actually opens.

Also

  • The Deep Vault: four more bank pages (up to 256 slots) as a construction contract beneath the Ash Bank — labour, a find, building stock, provisions, wages, then 3 to 24 hours of construction, each chamber with its own story.
  • Effect durations readable: "2 min 30 sec" instead of "2.5 min"; clicking an effect shows base duration per bottle, time left, stock and whether the Potion Warden redrinks.
  • New companion — the Sphere Hunter: spheres appear twice as often but stay only a fifth as long — for active players. Tamed after 250 caught spheres.
  • The three stances are now explained in combat, right above the buttons — no more window afterwards.
  • Messages say what really happens: the Super Spark names its real duration, the star spark its real marks.
  • Much less stutter on big saves: the level calculation recomputed the whole curve on every call — now cached, exactly the same numbers.
  • Dungeons no longer counted toward the harvest after a same-day Ashfall (thanks, despair!). Surplus bags can be sold (thanks, Turk!). The Hoard Warden shows his loot in the table and after every win.
  • The three Epoch Bosses have voices (DE/EN) and English names; their relics have new art.
