Hello, everyone! It's been a while!
Today we're releasing a major content update, introducing the new Pattern Pack Evolution system.
After defeating an Inner Demon, players can choose an entire Pattern Pack to evolve. Selected Patterns within that pack will receive targeted upgrades, giving your build a clearer progression path. We’ve also adjusted the refresh rules for Zhou’s Store. It will now only offer Pattern Packs you already own, making it much easier to develop a focused build.

We’ve also improved a wide range of animations, visual effects, sound effects, and UI elements, reworked several Artifacts, and fixed a number of known issues. We hope these changes make the game even more enjoyable. You can find the full patch notes below.
If you run into any issues while playing, feel free to join our official Discord and let us know! We'll do our best to resolve them as quickly as possible.
Attentive players may have noticed that this update doesn't exactly follow our original development roadmap. Let's just say we couldn't help going off-script for a bit. 😂
During development, we received a great deal of feedback about the late game, where bad luck could prevent players from obtaining the Pattern upgrades they wanted. We therefore adjusted part of our original development direction. With this new system, we hope to reduce late-game randomness, provide a clearer progression path, and encourage everyone to explore the synergies between different Pattern categories.
When we originally created the roadmap, we were focused on adding as much content as possible to the Early Access version and enriching the overall experience. Through our conversations with the community, however, we came to realize that "more" does not always mean "better," and that sometimes it is equally important to streamline and simplify.
We will be reorganizing our development plans in the near future as we continue toward the full V1.0 release. What has never changed is our love for mahjong and our passion for creating Aotenjo. Once again, thank you for your patience, understanding, and support!

V0.6.0.0-EA Patch Notes

  1. Added the Pattern Pack Evolution system, along with a dedicated Evolution interface. You can now choose an Evolution path based on each Pattern Pack category.
  2. Added multiple advanced Pattern Packs and their associated assets.
  3. Added a personal Pattern Pack pool. Pattern Packs offered in the Shop will now only be selected from those you already own.
  4. Added three new gameplay keywords:
    - Fortune: While you have Fortune, drawn tiles are more likely to meet the specified conditions.
    - Misfortune: While you have Misfortune, drawn tiles will avoid the specified conditions or be subject to the corresponding restrictions.
    - Bonus: When purchasing certain tile-related Artifacts, some tiles in the Wall will immediately be transformed into the corresponding tile type, allowing those Artifacts to become effective more quickly.
  5. Added the Rare Artifact Pair Magnet.
  6. Added a dedicated visual effect when Mahjong tiles gain Base Fu.
  7. Added a full-screen animation and sound effect for the Boss ability Timeless.
  8. Added a gameplay data collection and upload system for structured gameplay analytics. The first time this feature is enabled, the game will display a data collection notice and ask for your consent.
  9. Added the ability to pin Patterns in the Pattern List. Pinned Patterns will remain at the top of the list and will also be displayed in the main gameplay interface. Hovering over a pinned Pattern will highlight its associated Mahjong tiles.

  1. Adjusted the effects of the Roly Poly Toy, Demon Statue, Four-Color Gem, and Gold Ingot:
    - Roly Poly Toy: Its rarity has been changed to Rare. While holding this Artifact, you lose one Gadget Slot and gain Fortune: Unfallen Tiles.
    - Demon Statue: This Artifact now grants Fan ×2 while scoring. At the end of each round, up to 4 uncorrupted tiles in your hand will become Corrupted. Selling this Artifact transforms all existing Corrupted tiles, including those in the Wall, into random Terminal Tiles.
    - Four-Color Gem: Its rarity has been changed to Epic. Collecting 3 different Pattern categories now grants Fan ×2 once. Collecting a fourth category grants another Fan ×2.
    - Gold Ingot: This Artifact no longer requires your hand to contain Numbered Tiles. Its effect now activates as long as all tiles belong to the same category, including hands consisting entirely of Dragon Tiles or entirely of Wind Tiles.
  2. Adjusted the names, descriptions, rarities, and localization of several Artifacts.
  3. Improved the interface of the Artifact Shop in Zhou's Store, including the overall layout, card visuals, backgrounds, and interaction flow. Added a new layered animated background to the shop.
  4. Improved the Pattern List interface. Higher-level Patterns are now displayed with different colors for easier identification.
  5. Improved Pattern icon sizes, text layout, and long-text display.
  6. Improved tile materials, fonts, borders, and text readability on light backgrounds.
  7. Improved links between keywords and Pattern names in tooltips, making hover previews more reliable.
  8. Improved tooltip fade-out animations, dynamic sizing, and long-text display.
  9. Improved button selection, hover feedback, and sound effects.
  10. Improved the readability of Pattern names, Artifact descriptions, and keyword text.
  11. Removed the original free Pattern Pack page. Free Pattern Packs can now be obtained through Zhou’s Store.
  12. Updated various art assets, including Pattern Packs, Artifacts, the shop, and backgrounds.

  1. Fixed an issue where some buttons could still display empty tooltips when using a controller.
  2. Fixed an issue where the switch play mode button could occasionally become unclickable.
  3. Fixed an issue where Edict Mahjong would fail to generate during the second consecutive battle against the Boss Timeless.
  4. Fixed an issue where Bamboo Mahjong could fail to unlock under rare circumstances.
  5. Fixed an issue where data from the Library Card Artifact could not be loaded correctly across save files.
  6. Fixed a floating-point precision issue affecting the displayed bonus of the Yin Yang Jade Flute Artifact.

  1. Added a new automatic event subscription system based on property tags, allowing Artifacts to subscribe to and unsubscribe from events more safely.
  2. Added new events for complete run completion and Shop Artifact selection.
  3. Added automatic registration support for console commands.
  4. Refactored achievement end-of-run event listeners to use the new event system.
  5. Removed obsolete mod testing scripts.
  6. Upgraded the Unity engine version and updated several project dependencies.
