Hey Crew, I hope you all have been doing well!
After many months of writing dev updates, I still don't know how to organize these well or what information is best to actually include in them... This update is going to give you a taste of (some of) the things we've been working on and some updates on the team over here at Trash Planet Games.
I started making these steam community posts to show you guys that we are actively developing and that Ironclad won't be another indie game that never releases. While I'll still continue to make these dev updates, I'm excited to share with you all that we've had the privilege to quit our day jobs and work Full Time on IRONCLAD. We feel so lucky that we're able to work on this game every day so we can make it the best version it can be. So thank you all for helping us achieve our dreams of being Game Devs!
You turned into a LITTLE TANK INSTEAD?? Previously, our resurrection system would kind of spawn you in a random place separating you from your friends. That was temporary and y'all didn't quite enjoy that (neither did we). After "dying", you're head will separate from your body and you'll become HELMET TANK. This will give you the ability to stick with your crew and have the opportunity to be revived. More to come on this guy in a future update.
We obviously needed quite a few more quality of life and accessibility features so we focused a bit of time on adding some more settings. To name a few, we now have full key rebinding, invert mouse, FOV scaling.
We overhauled our first-person view and added first-person animations to pretty much every relevant action. You can clearly see EVERY item you hold. You see when you're cooking a grenade. You see yourself reload. Your body is no longer bladed to the side while holding an item. Trust me, it looks way better now. (Preview below is what it looks like to now hold the Snot Pistol).
Are you having a hard time aiming your tank cannon? We hear ya loud and clear and got a fresh new turret scope on the way. The best part about a lot of your suggestions, is that most of them were already part of the plan. Here's some work in progress art:
We've got a bunch more stuff in the works that we aren't ready to share quite yet, but hopefully these features start to address some player feedback and get y'all excited for what's to come.
Thanks again, and dont forget to hit up our Discord and come hang out!
Love ya talk to you soon!
