Scavengers, the void just got more complex. Update v0.5.0 is a massive leap forward, featuring a deep architectural overhaul of how ships are built and how you navigate them.
We have completely rewritten the core logic for interior generation.
Realistic Room Layouts: Furniture, crates, and machinery are now placed using a more logical, "lived-in" algorithm. No more random clusters – rooms now have clear functional zones.
New Decorations: Added pipes, ventilation valves, and wall-mounted tool plates to increase visual variety and immersion.
High-Voltage Hazards: Watch your step! Exposed wiring can now be found hanging from ceilings or protruding from walls. If the ship's power is active, these live wires will deliver a punishing electrical shock to any drone (or monster) that gets too close. Use caution when restoring power to older derelicts!
Exploding Compressors: Watch your fire! New physical hazards have been added. Damaged compressors can now chain-react and explode, causing massive damage to anything (or anyone) nearby.
Knowing where you are is key to survival.
Ship Outlines: The Docking Screen and Minimap now display the structural outline of the derelict ship. This makes orientation significantly easier during complex missions.
Large Radar Overhaul: The Radar system has been optimized and refined for better performance and clarity when scanning large sectors.
Ventilation Control: New manual valves allow you to interact with the ship's environment in new ways – use them to redirect gas or isolate sections.
Architectural Cleanup: We’ve overhauled how monsters are loaded and managed in memory. This reduces stutters during ship generation and improves frame stability when multiple hostiles are active.
Insect Swarm Fixes: Resolved several lingering issues with swarm behavior and pathfinding.
Loading Sync: Fixed a critical bug where monster data could get de-synced during ship loading.
Version 0.5.0: The version counter has been bumped to reflect these major architectural shifts.
UI Polish: Adjusted the size and positioning of various HUD elements for better readability on high-resolution screens.
Table & Chair Alignment: Fixed a long-standing issue with procedurally placed furniture overlapping or floating.
Long ship loading: identified and optimized. Ships load up in seconds.
