Broadcast Empire v0.8.1 Release Notes
This update expands the station management side of Broadcast Empire, with a bigger focus on multi-channel scheduling, rival behaviour, regulation, and clearer financial consequences.Major Changes
Added player channel services. You can now launch additional services including Sport, News, Movies, Drama, and +1 channels from Infrastructure.
Added multi-channel scheduling. The scheduler now lets you switch between your launched channels, with each service having its own schedule, reach, restrictions, and broadcast hours.
Added +1 channel support. +1 services automatically mirror the main channel one hour later between 19:00 and 23:00, with proper ratings, competition, and reduced airing costs.
Added channel-specific marketing. Marketing campaigns can now target sub-channels as well as the main channel, genres, shows, VOD, and other campaign types.
Expanded rival channel intelligence. The Rivals screen now includes competitor schedules, threat ratings, known counter-moves, forecast programming, and behaviour notes.
Improved rival behaviour in scheduling. Rivals can now counter-program strong slots, compete in rights auctions, and apply more visible pressure to your schedule planning.
Overhauled the regulator system. Regulation now tracks complaint pressure, scrutiny, standards trust, licence risk, cases, enforcement stages, schedule risk, and compliance posture.
Added regulator actions. You can commission standards audits, open viewer liaison, issue public apologies, or settle cases when pressure builds.
Improved the News Feed. It now has a fuller newspaper-style layout, unread handling, filters for ratings/cash/board/rivals, better tables, visuals, and clearer story types.
Expanded film content. Added a larger set of film library titles and title-card assets, with improved studio deal presentation.
Improved live rights and live studio presentation with new images, updated pricing, better risk handling, and clearer active rights information.
Updated commission handling. Commission and repeat markets now refresh as rotating slates, remember your selected mode/genre, and show estimated airing costs separately from production/licence costs.
Improved financial modelling. Broadcasts now separate production/licence costs from airing costs, weekly station operating costs are clearer, and +1/repeat/live/film costs are handled more consistently.
Improved audience reach calculations, especially across channels, marketing, live events, distribution, and long-term station growth.
In Shortv0.8.1 makes Broadcast Empire feel more like running a growing TV group rather than a single channel. You now have more services to manage, more rival pressure to read, more regulatory risk to control, and more useful information in the news feed when the consequences land.
