Take your seat at the Controller's Desk

Broadcast Empire v0.16.1 brings a new daily station briefing, a stronger weekly planning rhythm, and more decisions across television, streaming and marketing. There is also more evidence behind your overnight results, helping you decide what deserves another chance and what needs to change.

Your station, at a glance

The new Controller's Desk brings urgent decisions, tonight's schedule and opposition, board objectives, cash runway, struggling shows and your biggest rival threat into one management screen.
Monday planning meetings put a weekly priority on your desk, while the Sunday report reviews how the week went. Updated developments dialogs give you direct routes to the decisions and departments that need attention.

A clearer picture of performance

Overnight broadcast reviews now compare actual audiences with historical expectations, show recorded viewing influences, and break down broadcast income and costs. Historical ranges give you context for tonight's schedule wherever there is enough evidence.
New eight-week board mandates offer a choice of direction and ambition before your commitments lock in. Audience growth, financial recovery, genre identity, competitive wins and original television can shape the board's priorities, with midpoint reviews and financial consequences at the end.

Sleeper hits and second chances

Original shows now develop audience stories over fresh episodes. Some find viewers immediately; others need a consistent run and word of mouth to build momentum.
Underperforming shows can prompt a Save Our Show decision. Commit to a turnaround approach and follow the audience recovery across three fresh episodes, within a 28-day review window. Show detail and weekly reports keep that progress visible.

Build your streaming business

The expanded streaming service adds business-model and pricing decisions, paid growth campaigns, release windows, content acquisitions, featured titles and curated collections. A viewer preview shows how your service looks, while the platform finance view tracks its performance.
You can also commission original films with cinema and streaming launches, and use the new Shared Video page to publish clips from eligible shows.

More decisions behind the scenes

Marketing: Choose creative routes and campaign objectives, respond to campaign decisions, and review delivery and broadcast outcomes in campaign debriefs.
Live studio: Set editorial briefs for individual editions, review the results of a programme's run, and decide whether to renew, refresh or cancel it. Broadcast debriefs record the audience and financial outcome.
Rivals: Headline rivalries and weekly scorecards make competitive wins, defeats and the next showdown easier to follow.
Talent and IP: Clearer talent-care decisions and a redesigned Merchandising & IP Rights screen make costs, available opportunities and commercial activity easier to assess.

Interface and reliability

The sidebar now groups station operations more clearly, and the startup menu keeps game-only controls out of the way until a game begins. Broadcast-result feedback and developments messaging have also been improved.
This update fixes a streaming-page revisit error and expands checks for older saves, show turnarounds, live studio decisions, marketing campaigns and board commitments.
Thanks for playing Broadcast Empire. Let us know how your next week in the controller's chair goes!
