Depthbound Descent — Version 1.0 Is Out Now! 🎉

Depthbound Descent officially leaves Early Access and reaches Version 1.0!

Thank you to everyone who played, reported bugs, and shared feedback during development. This release marks a major milestone for the game, introducing meta progression, balance improvements, and important fixes across the board.

Below are the full Version 1.0.0 Release patch notes.

🆕 Changes

  • The party now fully recovers automatically upon entering a boss room
(Note: there is currently no visual feedback for this behavior.)

  • Meta progression system is now live!

  • Skills are permanently unlocked (randomly) after a game over, as long as you reach at least the first boss

  • The more bosses you defeat in a single run, the more skills you permanently unlock

  • The welcome message shown between runs now appears only on your very first run

⚖️ Nerfs

  • Some bosses will no longer spam their most powerful skill without reason

🛠 Bug Fixes

  • PuNking will no longer mysteriously disappear

  • Fixed several end-game battle crashes

  • Fixed a Steam Deck crash

  • Fixed multiple typos

This is only the beginning for Depthbound Descent. While Version 1.0 marks the full release, your feedback will continue to shape future updates and improvements.

Thank you for diving into the depths — and good luck on your descent. 💀⛏️
